This is the kind of thing that drives me nuts, it's so counter productive. The woman leaves a living, warmly dressed baby on a doorstep where she knew people were at home and they charge her and put her in jail.Oh, and shame her before the community of course.  Now let's be surprised and outraged when the next one ends up in a dumpster. Yes, she should have left the baby at a hospital, but she probably didn't even know that was an option.
