I think this is interesting, though unfortunate for the actress. I am a big King of Queens fan and have always enjoyed Kevin/Leah Remini's chemistry on screen. I haven't seen much of "Kevin Can Wait." But from what I have seen I didn't think that him and his wife on the show had much chemistry. I've seen a lot of other people say that as well.  Though it does look like this did well in the ratings for a new show so there may be many people that will also be upset by this news.

I wonder how they will get rid of the character and if they might actually have her die. It looks like her and Kevin's character were happy so they may not go the route of sudden divorce. I remember how they ended "How I met your mother" and how that really upset a lot of people. I wonder if they will also take a sadden turn with this character's exit. But regardless, I wish the actress the best, it does stink to be dumped after a year on show. Maybe she will land on her feet somewhere.

I never cared for King of Queens but love Kevin Can Wait and find it very funny. I don't know why they fired the actress. They could have just added Leah as Kevin's former gf.

I've never watched this show but according to the article Reminin won't be playing his wife- she will play his partner in the police force.

So who's going to play his wife?  Or are they just going to avoid showing his home life?

Lol the wife got fired. Leah already appeared on the show but got a contract to be a regular next season hence the controversy. They haven't revealed how the wife will be written out but speculation that Leah will  become his love interest and eventual wife

They should have just rebooted King of Queens instead of ... whatever Kevin Can Wait was.

Yep

And Kevin and Erinn Hayes didn't exactly set the screen on fire. JMO. To me they hired a lesser actress (not knocking Hayes, she was good, but not exactly a "name", that's all I mean) so Kevin could ham it up and be the star.

Kevin and Leah have far better chemistry.

I don't necessarily agree with getting rid of one for the other but shows get retooled. It doesn't happen as much anymore but it's not anything new. I feel bad for Hayes but I like Remini, so ...

I found it funny how many were saying (elsewhere, not here) they lacked chemistry and now everyone's upset about the exit of Hayes. Again not saying I think it was fair or anything but it's just funny to me how people react.

Okay, I see your point about paving the way for Remini and James to get together.  I guess James wasn't feeling the other actress?

    • Rewatching/binging THE X-FILES Seasons 1 and 2 (almost done). So much fun re-experiencing, especially re-discovering some of the monster-of-the-week stories. THE WEST WING Seasons 1 and 2 as well - so good to rewatch now with 20 years more life experience and understanding. ALSO.... lol FOOTBALLERS' WIVES Season 3, which is just as bonkers as I remember and so so so so fun. I had forgotten about that iconic season cliffhanger. Good times. Excited to rewatch Seasons 4 and 5 since I remember so very little about them. Hope you've been enjoying!
    • @Toups Tyler Topits listed in alpha order with the breakdown writers 5/12 Monday episode. O'Connor still listed as both breakdown and script writer. Kreizman wrote today's script.
    • Marland was long gone by this point.  He quit in either August/September 1982. I think it was due to letting the actress play out her contract and use her for party scenes and/or scenes with Phillip/Justin.   I was surprised she was still on in June 1983 myself, because I figured she had been written out before Pam Long joined the writing staff. Thankfully, having episodes uploaded during this period on Spauldingfield YT site has helped to connect some of the dots.  It looks as though Pam Long starts the first week or so of May 1983.. and in those first few weeks: Morgan and Evie were both written off and Lillian/Mindy/Billy/Beth/Annabelle all come onto the show.

    • I can't watch until later (Canada issues). What is Philip's motivation for stealing the drug? Only plot I cared about today and you did not mention it
    • Doug III’s first day of work. Hope he does a good job… or that Tate tries to sabotage him somehow

His scenes with Holly were nice though. They’re sweet together and I understand why some people think that they have more chemistry than Tate/Holly do. And I liked that Doug III opened up to her about his past. Maybe that could lead to something good happening in the future.  I also enjoyed Roman and Kate, and how they’re both being tied into EJ’s shooting. The mystery of it all is really compelling. I don’t think Roman is the shooter though either.  I didn’t have much sympathy for Kristen though. She has no one to blame for Rachel’s problems than herself. But at the same time, I’m really surprised that Days actually remembered the Alex/Kristen fling. I thought Ron had erased that from existence. I’m not shipping them at all, but I’m definitely shipping a permanent end to Brady/Kristen but after today, I’m not so sure about that either.  And, Johnny and Chanel were still great together
