They decided Jack had served in Viet Nam, sired a child he did not know about, and his now-grown son, Keemo, came to town. "Whenever I am displeased with a storyline, all I have to do is think 'Keemo,' and I realize how bad things could get," Bergman explains. http://soapcentral.com/yr/news/2013/0403-bergman.php He hated the story. Doesn't say why. Everything else coupled with the Angie/Cliff story is conjecture. Thank you for posting this.

They sh-t on phenomenal, character driven stories--the meat and potatoes , but love campy stories--the scraps. This! Colleen Zenk and her curious opinions on her 'best' storylines and pairings immediately come to mind as one example of this. How could she fail to see what we all saw?? Over the last decade or so, Y&R has been particularly bad with curbing their actors tendency to want to steer stories in their characters' favor, even if it proves detrimental to the show's storylines overall.
April 25, 20178 yr Member That's because they don't have Bill Bell anymore, telling them to "say the line" (to quote what he once told Jess Walton). Back when he was still alive and in charge, I think he made it clear who dictated what around the studio.

My point is that any headwriter should accept and wisely utilize the authority that comes with the title to best serve the show's stories, not coddle the talent.

It just says someone is coming back around into his life that he thought was gone. Could it be another Jack/Nikki pairing? Maybe he just thought that the show would never go there again. With Victor leaving town maybe Jack and Nikki will rekindle before he gets back. The cable guide says for Friday's show that Jack and Nikki share a close moment. For me, Jack and Nikki don't work as a couple. I never thought there was any great love between them.
