From what I can gather there were two iterations of Scarlett Hill-the first being an anthology with stories running for 5 or so episodes.

On April 22 1963 a new format debuted with Kate Russell running a rooming house with stories centered around that setting.

Yes, that's what I've found too. This document lists the titles of the scripts. I've found synopses and cast for most of them that I'm typing up for @slick jones . There appear to be kinescopes of the episodes available to view at the Library and Archives Canada.

The show itself doesn't sound very interesting, but I still wish an episode or two was around so we could judge.

I felt so sorry for that writer, Paul Wayne, who talked about his increasing migraines and how his pills weren't working anymore. I hope he got through...

I typed up some synopses for @slick jones to get the actor and character names that he's working on. Some of them sounded interesting. Might edit it down and post here when he's finished that. I didn't want to take up too much space in this thread.

DIVIDING LINE (Oct. 1962)

Scarlett Hill has a new pastor, Rev. Andrew McLean. A few weeks after his arrival, his wife Ellen discovers that $10 is missing from a church fund. They realize that the culprit must be Walter Jarrett, treasurer of the fund. Criticism against Rev. McLean builds up in Scarlett Hill, led by Gladys Acheson, Jarrett's landlady. The church leaders decide to ask for the pastor's resignation. The decision reaches the ears of Mrs. Margaret Pine, a friend of the McLean's, and knowing the reason is untrue, tells Ellen. Ellen realizes the complaints emanate from Jarrett, even though her husband decided to trust him. She goes to Henry Acheson and tells him the whole story. Henry, by deceptive means, discovers Ellen's story is true. Rev. McLean is still worried about Jarrett, especially when it learned that Jarrett is about to leave town.

THE LIE (Nov. 1962)

Guy Saunders' 17-year old son, Willie, is friendly with June Castle, whose mother Paula has twice married. Willie goes to a party at Mrs. Castle's house and then on to a dance, even though his father disapproves. Willie agrees to back up Mrs. Castle's story that Boyd Lesley was driving at the time of the accident but Mrs. Lesley is suspicious because she knows her son doesn't drive. Willie's father senses he was lying. Meanwhile, Mrs. Lesley visits June in the hospital. Mrs. Lesley threatens to go to the police. This shocks Mrs. Castle into realizing she really is at fault in trying to protect her daughter.

Mrs. Phillips learns that Susan Alston wants to be an actress and her father is planning to open a new drug store in the hotel he owns. When Doc Kendall's son, Langley, comes home from medical school to help in his father's drug store; Susan also comes over to help. Langley and Susan find a romantic interest in each other and Mrs. Phillips is still planning to have Doc installed as manager of Mr. Alston's new drug store.

CITY MICE (Dec. 1962)

For the sake of their children, Alec and Donna Howe give up their city apartment and move to the country near Scarlett Hill. Their new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. North, introduce themselves and seem friendly. In a short time, the Howes are swept up in community affairs, as they are expected to join community groups. One night the Howes have a fire in their basement. The Howes are frantic over their daughter's (Vicky) flight. The whole community responds to the alarm and searches the snow-covered countryside. Vicky is found unharmed, asleep in a hayloft. The near tragedy makes the Howes appreciate the genuine friendship of their country neighbors.

THE GATE (Dec. 1962)

Jim Forrest, a sporting goods salesman, proposes to Sally Armitage and, despite the disapproval of her wealthy grandmother, Mrs. Scott, Sally accepts. After the wedding, Jim realizes how much Sally's grandmother dominates her family. Following the birth of a daughter, Sally reverts to her old selfish ways and draws Jim deeper into the web of the Scott family. Tucker Armitage, Sally's father, is also dominated by his wife, but is too security conscious to fight back. Jim decides he wants to live his own life and turns down Mrs. Scott's offer of a better job. Jim's determination to move to Chicago and accept his firm's offer of a promotion means that Sally must make up her mind whether she will go with her husband or remain under the wing of her wealthy family.

PROOF POSITIVE (Dec. 1962)

A rich aunt Mrs. Martha Thorn makes a visit to her relatives in Scarlett Hill's bluffs (Sam and Laura Maxwell, and their daughter Dolly). The Maxwells try to please Mrs. Thorne, but nothing seems right. The only one to win her favor is Jack Sweetman, the Maxwells' houseboy. Sam asks Mrs. Thorn to loan him money but she refuses and threatens to leave her money to Jack. The next morning, Mrs. Thorn falls to her death from the verandah while to capture her escaped budgie. Mrs. Thorn leaves everything to Sam and Laura, but Jack, expecting something from the will, blackmails Sam. He threatens to tell police he saw Sam pushing his aunt off the verandah. Weakly, Sam accepts Jack's terms to live as oneof the family if he won't go to the police. Jack gets carried with his newfound position and proposes to Dolly. Dolly rejects him but he threatens to tell all if the wedding is not arranged. Sam and Laura realize things have gone too far and decide to go to the police. Before they do, a neighbor, Carl Logan, arrives and tells Sam he witnessed his aunt's death from the bluffs.

Margery Harwood, 45-year old widow, who lives with her grown family, often threatens to re-marry, but she is never taken seriously. One day an actor, David Chisolm, visits her bookshop in Scarlett Hill. David invites Margery to the theater and to have dinner with him after the show. This causes great concern among Margery's family and with Martin Ferris, her long-time beau. Margery's family Adam, Peggy, and Eloise, realize their mother is in love again but can't be sure who with. Matin becomes worried and is prompted to propose to Margery---but she comes home with David. Martin tries to persuade David not to marry Margery, but the decision is one she has to make.

JAMIE AND JOHN (Dec. 1962)

A busybody nurse discovers that Jamie Parker and John King, 10-year old boys born on the same day were accidentally switched at birth and have been brought up by the wrong parents. Dr. Tom Pine explains to the Kings and the Parkers about the mix-up and the boys switch homes. Jamie and John settle down in their new homes but their new parents don't like the idea. The Kings and the Parkers continue to feud as to who can best bring up the boys. Dr. Pine decides it's about time to settle the problem between the Kings and the Parkers. He arranges a birthday party to bring the young boys and their parents together.

Though he needs money for an eye operation, Gramps won't accept charity from Alice and Leslie. He enters a $10,000, crossword competition, and his daughter, Vesta, rents rooms in their house. Their first boarder is a mysterious man, Mr. Simms, who won't let anyone into his room, even to clean. Pearl and Cleve know that Simms is making up the contest crosswords and question Kirk, planning to get at the solutions. Unconscious of her knowledge of the correct answers, Mildred helps Gramps with his entries. Simms suspects trickery and suddenly leaves the house.

Research scientist, Dr. Una Dodds, becomes engaged to an insurance salesman (Ed) and is offered a top security job. Her lab assistant Henry Green falls in love with Una, but is later killed in an accident at the lab.

SECOND SOWING (Jan. 1963)

Melissa Logan discovers the heir to the Logan estate, 8-year old Patsy, has not been legally adopted by industrialist brother Carl Logan. Anxious to assure the inheritance for her childen, Melissa goes to Graham Hicks, a lawyer of dubious reputation. She offers him a large fee to find the child's real parents and persuade them to reclaim their daughter. Hicks finds the father, Jack, at a race track, and the mother, Martha, in a bar. He offers them $10,000, to live together as man and wife in Scarlett Hill. Hicks learns that Jack and Martha had two children (Patsy and Steve) and ask that both children be returned. The adoptive parents of the children are notified and are dumbfounded. Jack and Martha do well in the new respectable roles given them by Hicks, fooling the adoption authorities and the claims for the two Carter children are granted. Jack visits his son, Steve, while Martha visits Mrs. Carlotte Logan, Patsy's adoptive parent. Jack cannot tell Steve who he is, and Mrs. Logan tells Martha she will never get Patsy. Steve decides to visit his new found parents to see what they are like. Hicks plans to turn the tables on Melissa and calls Carl, and offers his services, at a fee, in return for arranging successful solution to the adoption problem. But Melissa is a jump ahead. She takes Patsy to the Carters' apartment, where they find Steve.

REUNION (Jan./Feb. 1963)

In June 1942, three college girls, Claudia (the college beauty queen), Alice, and Eleanor, are in love with the same man, MacFarland (Mac). Claudia schemes to take Mac away from Eleanor, whom he is currently dating. Mac takes Claudia to the college prom, and Harold takes Eleanor, who is unhappy but resigned to the fact that she has lost Mac. Suddenly, Eleanor realizes that Alice is also in love with Mac. Ten years later, at their college reunion, Claudia has married Mac; Eleanor has married Harold; and Alice is still single and carrying a torch for Mac. Claudia is striving to get Mac to rise to the top of his career. At the college reunion, the girls meet at Claudia's home for tea and Mac rushes in with news about his promotion to district manager. Before the college reunion dance, Harold and Alice's fiance arrange to meet Mac in a bar. He arrives drunk and later falls asleep in the dorm. Failing to see that she is responsible, Claudia creates a scene, walks out, and leaves Mac. For Alice, the myth of the years is broken.

RETURN FROM NIGHT (Feb. 1963)

Jason Stark, a stranger, comes from Avondale, a rural suburb of Scarlett Hill. To the surprise of local people, he gets a job as a handyman at Winsted farm, owned by Lavinia Winthrop, a recluse who hasn't left her farm for 13 years, and lives with her housekeeper-companion, Sarah. Later, it is revealed that Jason is an author trying to get Lavinia's story for a book he is writing. Lavinia tells Jason her complete story and how she blamed herself for her father's death. Recounting the events upsets Lavinia. Jason comforts her and tells her that he loves her. Unable to accept this, Lavinia orders him to leave the farm. Jason disappears for a week. Worried, Lavinia regrets her decision and decides to go to him. The Stark's publisher, Roger Alexander, arrives, bringing with him Jason's unfinished novel. He tells Lavinia that Jason has refused to publish it. In anger on learning the truth about Jason, Lavinia threatens to burn the novel. Lavinia relents and reads Jason's novel about her own story. She cannot bring herself to destroy it, and wants Jason to finish it. She leaves the farm for the first time in 13 years, and finds Jason, persuading him to finish and publish the book, despite the publicity it will bring her. They will face the consequences together.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON (Feb. 1963)

Jim Rainey, son of a top insurance executive, Bob Rainey, is involved in a hit-and-run car accident after he had been drinking. Attempting to clear his son's name, Bob tells Police Commissioner Swanson that he was actually driving the car and saw nothing. Bob tries to get his son's girlfriend, Fran, to cooperate in his plan to clear Jim of the blame for the car accident. Uncertain that the injured man will live, Bob calls in Scarlett Hill's lawyer of dubious character, Graham Hicks. Marion Rainey, Bob's wife, finds out about the accident and calls in a brain specialist to help the inured man. Fran tries to convince Jim he should go to the police and confess. Meanwhile, Commissioner Swanson discovers some of the facts. Hicks finds a "witness" who will clear Bob of charges. When Jim overhears this, he is appalled that his father is buying his way out but Bob justifies himself in his son's eyes. Marion, in a desperate attempt to make her husband understand that he is damaging his son instead of protecting him, threatens to leave home. Jim finally sees through his father's deception and decides to go to the police.

Harry Little, a struggling architect, comes home one day to discover his wife and two sons were killed in a car accident. Margie, his daughter, who was out playing, knows nothing of the tragedy. Harry gets "help" from two neighbors, Irma Bailey, a spinster who has always had her eye on Harry, and Freda Greenway, whose husband loaned Harry the money to build his "dream house."

HOLE IN THE SKY (Mar. 1963)

Mike Wry, a freelance writer, is assigned to do the rags to riches story of a local boy who made good. Kent Garner has a meeting with Jock and he tells him their new mining venture has fallen through. There is no financing to get it into production---in short, Jock is almost bankrupt. That night, Jock takes Mike to Sourdough's Stag, a get-together of prospectors. Early the following morning, they get home very drunk. Jane is staying at the local hotel in anticipation of bringing home some of his rowdy friends. While Jock and Mike have a nightcap, Jock gets an unexpected telephone call from a Mr. Jourdenmaine. The following morning, Jock is found dead --- asphyxiated by carbon monoxide fumes.

DOUBLE CORNER (Mar. 1963)

Teenager Joe Green is being sought by police for a part in a murder case. He is discovered by Dora Pepperall on the verandah of Mrs. Jacobsen's rooming house. As she is about to expose him, he overpowers her. Sgt. McDougall, investigating the case, comes to the house and meets Mrs. Jacobsen's daughter, Fran. Meanwhile, Joe hides in the attic apartment of Charles Gaylord, a lonely university professor. While police search for Joe, Gaylord has befriended the youth in his apartment. Fran's fiance, Glen, suspects Gaylord is not telling the truth when Sgt. McDougall questions him about Joe, but he says nothing. Gaylord decides to educate Joe and introduces him to the neighborhood as his nephew. When Dora comes to identify Joe, she finds her description of him doesn't fit. In an attempt to cover for Joe, Gaylord confesses that he committed the murder. But Joe won't let Gaylord take the blame and tells Sgt. McDougall that he is Joe Green. He explains that to become Joe Gaylord, he must first get rid of his old self and face up to the crime.

THE AMHERST CASE (Mar. 1963)

A shy and retiring young girl, Louise, inherits the entire fortune of her domineering mother. When word comes later that she has been drowned in Europe, a mysterious cousin, Julia, turns up to claim the fortune. Julia bears a strong resemblance to Louise, but their personalities are different. She produces a later will made by Louise leaving the bulk of her estate to her. Victor's attention turns from Clara to Julia. Clara, still suspicious of Julia, sends Walter to see the family lawyer to question the validity of Louise's will. Julia injects her bright young personality into the stuffy old Amerherst house and decides to hold the local charity ball in it. Amelia starts to tell Julia of Clara's suspicions. Walter questions Julia and she admits responsibility for Louise's death. Victor asks Julia to go away with him as he knows Clara plans to expose the will as a forgery and blame Julia for Louise's death. Julia refuses to leave with Victor as she wants to face the charges. Clara thinks she has proof that Julia has killed Louise and forged the will. When faced by the proof and the accusations of the whole family, Julia produces some startling new evidence.

What does wealthy newspaperman Frank Richardson have against Kate, and what has David discovered about Walter? Harry discovers Mars, and Walter discovers that something went wrong. Kate's daughter Ginny comes home for a visit, and Sandy McTavish is the bearer of good news for Harry. Kate's rooming house continues to be shrouded with mystery, when Harry's workshop becomes the headquarters for Walter's secret work. Janice suffers from headaches. It is revealed that Janice is pregnant. She refuses to marry the father of the baby (David Black?) because she is in love with another man. Janice decides to marry Sidney. Kate convinces Janice to tell her parents about the baby. Though Pearl has been married three times, she never had a child and wants to adopt Janice's baby. Dr. Spangle thinks Janice is mentally ill. Janice's headaches get steadily worse. The doctor orders Janice to bed.After visiting Janice at the hospital, David tells Ginny that he believes Janice is more seriously ill than they thought. Everyone at the Russell house has been affected by Janice's death.
