I had a feeling Austin was the stalker but why reveal so fast

I agree. This storyline began, played out and peaked so fast that I didn't even know what his name was other than photographer guy.

Had this been 1991, this storyline would have taken six or seven months to unravel.

Hell even 3 months. was this like 4-6 weeks tops. I miss those well written 13-26 week short term soap arcs

One of the good things about Y&R's production schedule is that they can get bait pretty quickly if a storyline isn't working (they usually have plenty of exits planned and decide if they will go forward or end it). Perhaps, this is one they felt wasn't working. Contrast that to poor DAYS. I'd rather a show dump something quickly than go on and on and on.

My thought: could Summer get injured and need a blood transfusion.....

it was so obvi. tho. Duder had more lines than veteran characters on the show. LOL It was like 'oop, why is this guy talking? I bet he's the stalker.' LOL

i wonder if they'll reform him like Kevin. >.>

I don't understand why Sharon is shown for one second not saying anything? What does she have to do with this storyline? lol they probably thought she was Avery.
