True. And that is fine....however, because the audience knows that Hakeem didn't do it, he will get sympathy. It was written to garner Hakeem sympathy. Especially when you compound it with the revelation that his girlfriend has a girlfriend. Hakeem is the sympathetic one in this situation.

Again, it hurt my heart but I love the drama. Meh...one brother punched another. It's not that big of a deal to me. Jamal is at a crossroads and doesn't know who to trust. I love this character and his evolution. It's quick but I dig it.

What part of JAMAL DOESN'T KNOW HAKEEM DIDN'T DO IT don't you get? Come on, don't pretend you're not getting it, you're much too smart for that.

And since when do you care who the writing props? The writing on Y&R is decimating Hilary and Devon and yet you see through that and refuse to accept it.

Come on now!;)

But see I'm not saying that Jamal's conclusion was the worst conclusion, especially since the thugs mentioned the watch. My point is Daniels is really pushing the audience to see that even though Jamal is gay, he can be bad ass. That's not necessary. Jamal is a human being first, so yeah, its possible he can be bad ass and his sexuality has nothing to do with it. Jamal is coming off like a whiny bitch with a huge chip. If your father is homophobic, so damn what! I'm just not as impressed/enthralled with this guy as most of you seem to be. I don't have a motive to dislike him. I just don't [!@#$%^&*] like him. In fact, I loathe his ass, and in the hood where's he's trying to make music, there are plenty of trash cans that await him!

Saint Hakeem!!

But, it's OK. Jamal will probably be apologizing by next week and will go back to supporting, comforting and guiding his little brother, while Hakeem repays him by badmouthing him to his father (AGAIN), competing and wanting to do better (AGAIN) and being jealous (AGAIN).

I am going to need you to take it from 10 to at least an 8 so we can have a rational conversation about this. j/k LMBO!

I totally get why people HATE Devon and Hilary. The writing dictates that they do and I have said it a many times that I understand. Hevon are the EVUL villains to poor, pitiful, good man Neil. However, I will never hate them over some heinous writing and see right through it. It's the same for Jamal. I get why people don't like him. However, there is nothing that they can do to make ME hate Jamal. I wub him. And always will. And I won't assign some nefarious reason for why people do when it is clearly in the writing for them to dislike him. Not as overt and Devon and Hilary but it is there. Jamal is annoying...but I like that because they gives him layers. He is perfectly flawed!

Disclaimer: Yes, I know it seems I am talking out of both sides of my mouth on this issue so no need to point that out. tongue.png

I completely see what you see in regards to Jamal. I've seen some moments that I do like and I like him, but I agree about how they are trying too hard to show him as some bad ass, and I roll my eyes everytime he wants to 'please his daddy' and how he constantly worries what Lucious thinks and how he wants his approval at everything.

Look. It hurts to be rejected by a parent. I can't relate to that, thankfully, but I understand Jamal desiring his father's approval and love, but at some point you just have to do you and stop living your life trying to gain his support, respect and approval.

The writing has been uneven with Jamal, IMO. But I'm still rooting for him. I just think they're taking a basic way out with him as a character right now.

Little moments like how he found the song in his head last week, and the moment on the roof this week, that's what makes me like him and root for him. And it doesn't hurt that Jussie is good, and good looking. LOL

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
    • It’s not about a lack of faith and trust in MVJ, it’s about a a lack of faith and trust in Ron Carlivati, who I think can be very sneaky and manipulative when he wants to be.  And, all that “He’s just a breakdown writer” talk never changed my mind about anything, because at Days, it was “just a breakdown writer” that gave us some of the worst episodes I’ve ever seen.
