I think it was rewritten, cause I read Adam wasn't Delia's hit and run driver originally

I personally have no idea how this concept of someone else being the driver even came about (unless it was wishful thinking/rumors by fans of Adam?).

Especially if you look at the scene, they CLEARLY show Adam's car speeding down the road, the dog running away, Adam swerving to avoid the dog and falling on Delia's bush, getting out to check that the dog was all right, getting in his car and leaving. There is NO way they would have gotten out of it unless they extensively retconned it with some silly excuse that would only serve to deify Adam.

I feel as if all this great drama would be a waste of time if Adam didn't hit Delia. Leave him as the culprit.

I think the idea started with the EW article about Cynthia's hiring. It said her character Kelly would have a profound impact on Villy and Chloe's lives. People assumed/hoped that meant Kelly would end up being the driver somehow in the end. I agree though, by what we saw I can't see how anyone but Adam hit Delia. Adam was speeding, Delia saw his car lights approaching, he drove into the bush where she was.

Thank you, that makes sense. So it was just rabid speculation that turned into a rumor. You're right, there is no way out of it--and I'm just fine with that.
