I'm actually surprised they even opted to rehire Ryan Carnes. I considered him to be the most handsome version of Lucas. That's another reason why I can't picture him in a romance with Felix or Brad. I actually thought Lucas would be brought back in the form of that Hogestyn guy or someone new entirely.

I guess for daytime. Paevey reminds me of those generic boyfriends of the month for tokens on primetime shows.

They cast actors they want to [!@#$%^&*]. He likely won't be doing anything onscreen, other than reacting to Felix and Brad and watching his pervy father model underwear.

Why isnt Robin suffering from PTSD?

According to our savior, she had a good time in captivity, nothing to be upset about.

I honestly would be surprised if they made Nathan gay and paired him with Lucas.

You rarely see (if ever), especially on a soap, especially on GH, someone like Ryan Paevey being cast in a gay role. It's clear most TV thinks gay men are to be played in the way of Felix or completely asexually, in the way of Sonny & Will.

True unfortunately! Though there are a few exceptions. I recall actors Trevor Donovan and Victor Webster, both of whom are fairly hot men, playing gay guys on primetime soaps. But that's just it, they were PRIMETIME soaps.

I agree. He would be a surprising casting choice for a daytime gay character. For primetime he'd be the sexy yet idiotic guy that the star is jealous of/competes against.

Very true. But it's not only a matter of hotness. While primetime has improved in this, they tend to look for relatively average-looking guys that can play effeminate well, because that is the only way they could (and, in many instances, still do) conceive of a gay man. Which is why someone whose character is a macho, confident cop would be a very surprising choice for a GH gay character.

Wednesday:

OMG they keep throwing digs at Bobby's looks laugh.png So mean

I’ve been enjoying Maura West’s performances. She’s taking a horrid character and has really built it up. And, I admit, I even loved Ava's threats at the end and how she put Julian in his place.

At least Sonny was smart enough to question Morgan’s lies. But why he would send his son to be potentially killed when he was anticipating Julian's reaction is beyond me. Morgan instantly turns into a snivelly, crying little sh.t that refuses to look Sonny in the eye everytime they talk/argue.

Franco was horrible towards Scott. Is this the hero we’re supposed to love and worship? And it seems his guilt over killing Heather and fear that he was truly a murderer quickly went away. But I’m loving Lucy & Scott. Just awesomeness.

Not saying anything about Heather and Carly. Nope. Not happening.

I think Silas' story made sense and was nice enough but what a letdown that this whole police investigation is based on Nathan's belief that he tried to kill Nina. We already know Silas didn't do it. Huge anticlimax. I guess they needed a reason to bring Nathan to town. Nathan & Dante seemed to click really nicely (if only ignores the clunky lines about the Yankees etc). They had good buddy chemistry.

Bitch of the day: Franco. His attempts at humor & sarcasm, and RH's acting choices... sigh.

They need to stop with the jokes about poor Jackie. It's one thing for fans to crack wise, but the show needs to have more class. It reminds me of the Sean Kanan thing - the writers' room starts equating itself too much with the online audience.

Sorry I had a brain fart what did the show say RE Bobbie/Jackie Z looks?

Agreed. It's not cool or hip or whatever. It's just mean-spirited.

Lucy saw Bobbie and asked if she was trying a new moisturizer or the cool winds of Seattle had reinvigorated her (or something like that). Cut to Bobbie's face.

Some of you are way to transparent and are trying your best to not explicitly say what you really mean, let's keep it real and cut the bull.

When you say they rarely cast men in Daytime, like Nathan, to play gay characters you mean 'hot wooden gym rats who can't act' rather than 'average wooden guys who can't act'. Trevor Donavon and Victor Webster were still awful actors with awful characters, we're they easier to swallow cause they were hot and lyke so macho? And let's not act like everyone wasn't panting after Will and Sonny, up until they boarded the Bloated Express on the Unfortunate Haircut Freeway.

And when you say you can't see Lucas, a well rounded character (suuurre) being written into the Felix and Brad story, what you really mean is you can't see a hot guy like Lucas realistically slumming it with Felix (a lyke stereotyyype) and Brad.

And why do some act like soaps have only ever had effeminate gay characters? There is Felix (who isn't even that far gone on the hey gurl tip, and Luke, on his hammiest of days. So let's not.

And anyway Luke Snyder was perfect, ham and all, other gay characters wish they were as awesome.

First of all, you're assuming everyone thinks Lucas is hot. I'm sure that "Cartini" and some fans want him, but I have no idea what he will be onscreen, and none of Cartini's favorite pieces of ass ever do anything for me.

Second, you're assuming everyone is talking about race, when many of us are talking about character.

Is it unrealistic for some vain, racist white gay men to be with black men?

Yes.

Is Lucas a vain white, racist gay man?

I hope not.

I don't think Lucas would care about that.

What I do think he'd care about is that Felix is an awful human being who has been a raging !@#$%^&*] to Robin, who was a major part of Lucas' childhood and teen years.

I don't know why anyone would want to be with Felix. Ever. He's shallow, self-righteous, petty, he manipulates children to get what he wants, and he has zero charisma or likeable qualities.

As for Brad - the man tried to rape Lucas' nephew. Why would Lucas want to be with him?

And let's not act like everyone wasn't panting after Will and Sonny, up until they boarded the Bloated Express on the Unfortunate Haircut Freeway.

Only a few people here ever liked Sonny, from what I can remember. I was one of the few.

Wait a minute now, I never brought up race or even alluded to it. I was completely basing my thoughts on a superficial level. Posters had been bringing up looks and demeanor and that is what I was referring to.

My apologies. I thought that was what you were inferring. I've heard other people saying this so I conflated. Sorry.

Stereotypes - well I have a feeling they may use that to show why Lucas and Felix would be a good pair, if Lucas is "straight-acting" (I hate that term) and they clash.

For me it's about acting and characterization. And on those fronts i just don't like Felix.

I agree with you about Nathan being bland and uninteresting, straight, bi, or gay. I've seen a million generic pieces of tail like this on TV and I forget most of them as soon as I turn the channel.

If Felix was white with a posh accent (which he already has unless he's being "sassy") personality wouldn't good enough for Lucas. Look at how much pleasure he took in breaking his word to his supposed best friend just to cause some drama.

Same goes for Brad. It's not their color or nationalities, it's the fact that they are not decent people and the last time we saw Lucas he was a decent person by GH/soap standards. Now, if Lucas was coming to make one of the evolve, that'd be different.

LOL. Clearly, some of what you've said here applies to my previous posts. I stand by all that I've said previously and here's why: Looking for certain criteria when it comes to hooking up characters has been something that's always been done when viewers want to see their favorite STRAIGHT characters coming together. People have always thought of these things when it comes to potential straight hook-ups, but nothing ever gets said about it, so why would Lucas, Felix, and Brad be any different? Fangirls quite often develop a certain criteria for their favorite hunks to hook-up with that special girl. They focus on the girl's looks, personality, etc. I don't know what Lucas will be like this time, but if the show stays true to the character, he will be as different from Felix and Brad as night and day. And I'm not afraid to say it: Lucas is HOT, Felix and Brad are NOT! The personalities of Felix and Brad are also highly undesirable for me. Again, this is the same criteria that viewers set for straight characters.
