Don't do it B, or at least write an email.

Z is fine. I hope she does good. I remember having my doubts about Lil Mama playing Lisa in the TLC film and she stole the damn show.

Curious who they'll cast as R. & Dame Dash.

Lil Mama at least made sense in terms of looks. This girl doesn't even look black, although I know she is mixed. This girl should be playing Cassie, not Aaliyah. They're going to have to basically put her in blackface and alter her look to make this work. It's not a natural fit.

Yeah no, I didn't get her looks wise until they released the first promo of the film and then I saw the likeness that she had with Lisa.

I'm not judging until I see promos and or a trailer. Which we won't get til the end of summer or just before they debut it.

It looks like the family is exercising their option and doing what a lot of other families and/or estate holders of an entertainer do when they don't like a bio-pic-- Pull the Music Rights. Sometimes a clever production can work around that issue but I have to wonder in Aaliyah's case:

she was so young when she died that she had barely lived life. If the production doesn't have music rights, what else beside the R. Kelly episode (very early on in her career) are they going to focus on, story-wise?

As for Zendaya there could be a number of factors in her decision. The family of Aaliyah being against it could've been enough to scare her off. I know there was a Marvin Gaye bio-pic that was supposed to get made that was opposed by the Gaye family as well as Berry Gordy and Lenny Kravitz, who'd been reported as being attached to the project, dropped out soon after the family voiced their vehement opposition.

I thought I was the only one who thought Aaliyah was overhyped. And I'm about tired of people crediting her for style TLC, Janet Jackson and the girls in the hood were already rocking. I'm also tired of people saying if she was still alive Beyoncé would be nothing. She couldn't hold a handle to Beyoncé back then. She had some catchy songs but innovative she was not and she's no icon.

Also if Zendaya doesn't look black what does she look like? She certainly doesn't look white.

She looks like one of those racially ambiguous chicks that are offered roles to play blacks so they dont "threaten" or "offend" whites. She is shades lighter than Aaliyah and I personally find it a little disturbing that bi racial women are considered interchangeable with full black women. You'd never see Zendaya playing a white woman. This is the same issue I had with Zoe Saldana being cast as Nina Simone.

    • No to Andre/Ashley. I'm not sensing any connection. Kat is playing a dangerous game going against Silk Press Sheila.
    • Today was definite a good episode day with surprising 1:1 scenes between Bill/Silk Press Sheila & SPS/Kat.  And the final long scene between SPS/Kat with the close ups and cliffhanger reminds me so much of old school P & G/Bell soaps. It fits since Judy Tate (script writer) wrote for P & G soaps for years and Zimmerman (breakdown writer) worked on both Bell soaps. I even liked the Ashley/Derek scenes only because it feels as if there is a point to the scenes (lead up to a break up perhaps).  Andre/Ashley having a scene tells me that the show is still testing them out.. and I think showing the growing disconnect between Derek/Ashley will eventually lead to the two possibly dating. NuTed.. he seems more humble and less boastful/confident than the previous Ted.  Perhaps the show felt the previous Ted couldn't play remorse/humble.. and they made the switch.  Time will tell. Lastly... it was a Dani free day

    • Goulet also had an odd way of speaking - very clipped and brisk, like she had just gotten out of a '40s film. She sounded out of breath. She had this on all her soaps. She was a better actress than Tolan and did well enough with Mary's grief over her marriage in her final week or two in the part but had no real spark.  I agree they may have found a better Mary if they had tried harder. For some reason the recasting for the Ryan kids was never what it should have been. I don't know what was going on with Barbie Siobhan. Maybe that was ABC.
    • The finale peaked at 31.1 rating when Katherine hit Bobby with her car.
    • Exactly. And it's not like Stephanie didn't live a life when Hennig played her.  There are so many stories and relationships you can mine from her past.  And we just got......a book and sex with Alex or the random Bobby backstory which no one needed  I trust new writing can get the character back on track.  Like I said, I do think Abigail Klein has charisma.
    • Today (Thurs May 15) eppy not on paramount *menu* but it's on cbs.com. If you take the cbs episode URL and substituted paramountplus for cbs in the same URL, you get the episode on pplus https://www.cbs.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/ https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/video/Huj7bAYV8H6T038u9cXam3bk6QXNkM2Y/
    • Really good episode today. Even the characters who usually annoy me, like Chase and Brook Lynn, got some sweet scenes. I also appreciate that they're finally giving Lucky more to do, letting him in on Ric & Ava's blackmail scheme. And those Liz and Lucas scenes were fantastic;  Van Hansis has been bringing such playfulness to the role of Lucas, he brings out the best in scene partners like Laura Wright and Becky Herbst. It was also nice to get Liz's perspective on why her romantic rapprochment with Lucky is moving so slow; it makes perfect sense that she thinks he's not really capable of settling down, even if he wants to be with her.
    • I thought Keith did great as well. His scene with Colby was what sold me. He displayed the emotions that a man who knows he's made a mistake and wants to rectify should have. Its funny how Maurice has been given passes in his acting that other actors have not. What Keith has shown me is that he can atleast keep up with the ladies in his story instead of them acting circles around him when Maurice was playing the role.
    • Also Murder, She Wrote season 3 finale was the week before.
