Classic Ron.

The sad thing is, Hailey Pullos shows more range, verve and wit in that ad they show during the commercials than she ever has on the show. Yet they still have her done up and performing like Kristen Alderson on OLTL, 2004-2012 (and GH 2012-13). Any girlchild on canvas, regardless of their past or history, can be the new Starr - bland, overly emotive, constantly excitable and shrill, pure of heart, a gift to all, and utterly boring.

First time I saw the yogurt commercial, I couldn't believe it was the same girl. It's clear GH is mostly the problem. I never minded her until Cartini showed up and it was evident right from the start she was definitely the new Starr. It was awful and still is.

I like it but I don't get how it promotes Yoplait. Her mom switches her chips for yogurt, which she seems to be initially annoyed by but then "doesn't mind" because it's Orange Creme. But then she decides to get back at her mom for disapproving of her boyfriend by bringing in a worse one. So the yogurt is worse than the chips? Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

I enjoy the campy gay Jerome mob, I really do, but despite its stylish retro trappings there are so many indications of just how inept Ron is with these kind of stories. Carlos is the muscle of this family, the hitman, but all we have are scenes of these two siblings sitting around clucking over his health and saying he's a "soft target." Nobody ever called Jason (idiot and freak though he was) a soft target and worried about a hair on his head.

As much as I enjoy Julian on some level, and thought his early introduction was sly and sinister, he is pretty ridiculous. When King Cornholio turned on Morgan and snapped, "are you questioning me?" I could not help but laugh. And Sonny isn't any better, BTW. Mo's delivery in those warehouse scenes with Carlos - trying so hard to look like the big man again - was hilarious. But really, the Jerome mob is relying on a dumb college kid to help them mastermind their plans. These two are stylish and fun, but they've been working behind the scenes and enjoying the high life and culture for far too long.

I couldn't believe they finally did a Morgan and Molly scene since Morgan's return, and it was immediately all about T.J. They couldn't have given them one or two convos before Morgan set this up?

I have been tired of Kelly Thiebaud for months, but she plays "poor me" crap even worse than anything else. I have no sympathy for Britt and no interest in anything she does with Nikolas. It's all just so bad. She's not a terrible actress - she could likely be better under a different regime - but the fact is she is not good enough to elevate this and I'm sick and tired of Britt and her endless, endless pity-me lies and bullshit. Especially since I'm fairly certain this is going to continue to be strung out until at least February sweeps.

That's true, but I keep hearing about how awesome they are and how we should love them because they're so hot and cool and they sure stick it to the Sonny and Carly, and so on.

It just feels like posturing. I don't even know why I was ever somewhat pleased that de Vry was cast. He's one or two levels above Franklin Pangborn in those old Ginger Rogers/Fred Astaire movies.

I thought it would be good story for Duke to be torn between his underworld past and building a new life - and I still think it would be in the right hands - but the way they're doing it here is really goofy.

The material is not great and IB is very low-energy again after doing some really good stuff a few weeks ago. I love Ian Buchanan, I really do and I think he's been utterly wasted by this regime in a return that could have been great, but he's also coming off like a doddering grandpa in many of these scenes with the Jerome Sisters and Sonny. There's a way to portray the older, more damaged Duke without him coming off like an old hound with a bad leg - he needs to be vibrant, he needs to be the raconteur, he needs to have that tortured side as well. And he has almost none of any of that, and when he tries to be menacing - like jabbing his finger at Julian - it is often embarrassing, unless IB really gets worked up like he did a few weeks ago and lets loose. It's not that he's incapable of going for it anymore, because he got pretty nuts on DAYS. There's rarely any of that energy on GH.

When Duke and Sonny were wandering around that ridiculous "location shoot" all I could think of was Sonny's foggy ass asking "I don't know where these doors lead, do you?" And then we had murmuring Duke vowing to help Sonny take the rival mob down. Really, Grandpa? They both come off like old fools.
