Members Ben
http://www.thewrap.com/charmed-reboot-works-cbs/ A script deal has been made for the re-imagining of Charmed. It will centre around 4 sisters who discover they are witches. Chris Keyser (“Party of Five”) and Sydney Sidner (“The Rite”) are writing the project, with Keyser executive producing and Sidner co-executive producing. Not sure what I think about this. Loved the show from seasons 1-4, with later seasons changing direction and tone and producing some terrible episodes (and a few awesome ones), like the Harry Potter season with magic school. But, this was a Spelling show, and it had that Spelling magic, and without that, Spelling reboots never seem to work - Melrose Place 2.0 - or struggle to find a decent audience - 90210. Members gtru1981
Why are Network channels trying to reboot everything they see, have they run out of ideas??? Can't these people come up with creative ideas?? Atleast rip off a book or a comic like everyone else lol. Pretty soon they be trying to remake Full House!! Members allmc2008
Why not a continuation?? I mean the old show rewrote there own history so maybe that really wasn't the end. Maybe they can do a spin-off with the kids?? Or even a spinoff focusing on the White Liters?? Plus the show isn't that old either. It cancelled 5 years ago or so. Members Skin
That was originally my thought as well. Why reboot something so quickly after it's run? But apparently the show has been cancelled for 7 years now and has a very strong fan following for years after it's cancellation. It's one of the top most watched series on video subscription services, is popular with male audiences and also does extremely well in syndication (no doubt thanks to it's long series run of 8 seasons) and it has spawned a successful graphic novel series so it may seem that studios are interested in taping into that market of demand. I also think the impact of Charmed has been notable with shows like Witches of East End, The Vampire Dairies and Supernatural may be a reason why studios want to revive the series. I still think it's odd though, for so long the series felt creatively void (especially the last seasons, seasons 5, 6 and 8 most notably seemed lost in so many ways) and it still much too recent to air this less than 10 years after the original series ended. People still remember the original Phoebe and Piper if nothing else.
Members Mr. Vixen
Isn't Witches of East End basically the same thing?
Members Chris B
This is such a bad idea. Charmed is still one of the top programs in cable based on the TNT reruns, but this doesn't need to be remade. if anything, they need to continue the story with Piper's sons. When the show was canceled with good ratings. many fans suggested a show called The Charmed Sons. By doing that, they could still have the original women (plus Kaley Cuoco for crossover) make appearances here and there. Hell, I'm sure Rose McGowan would agree to appear as a regular since her ass ain't doing nothing.
Members frequentsoapfan
It's very similar right down to the sets. The Witches of East End books were horrible and I find the show worse. It reminds me of the later seasons of Charmed.
Members Khan
Wow, "Charmed" has been off the air for SEVEN years? I would have sworn it hadn't been that long! LOL!
