Members Khan
I loved reading (and rereading, and re-rereading) this issue, so whatever pages you could scan and make available for us would be fantastic.
Members quartermainefan
It would be interesting to see how this list differs from one the same magazine would do today. I suspect it would be almost exactly alike illustrating just how forgettable most soaps are these days.
Members BKuzak
It's funny they put the OJ simpson trial, I guess that really was a big deal in the soap world. i don't remember it as much as others would. I mean i know of it and remember it as a whole but i don't remember it affecting my soap watching. I was watching the Viki's alters story of 1995 but i don't remember it affecting it. Obviously it did. I do remember one time a new alter came out on a Friday but then the Oklahoma City Bombing happend on monday so i had to call the soap hotline to see what happend that day. I don't think i actually saw all the Tory scenes for that day until Youtube posted Tori's first scenes over a decade later.
Members DRW50
It didn't seriously affect my soap watching either because at that I was barely watching any soaps, as I was upset at how far they'd fallen in quality. Thanks for the list. I had this issue and read it again and again. I may still have it somewhere but it is very badly damaged. This is probably the peak of SPW in terms of this type of coverage, so informative, and without Mimi Torchin pushing herself to be the center attraction as she sometimes did. I learned a ton about daytime's history from this issue. Young purist anal me balked a few times (there is an error about Jonathan Frid leaving Dark Shadows - didn't happen!), but overall it was the best. Members JackPeyton
the OJ trial is like burtn into my memory of soap operas. MY great grandma watched NBC soaps daily. Like they were her life in the afternoon, and my Grandma with ABC and my Mom with CBS (maybe this is why they didnt get along?). My mom would record them and watch when she got home from work, but GG/Grams watched live in different rooms. And when that Trail was going on they were glued to the TV in a way they were not with soaps. They would each turn the soaps on and clean house, cook, etc. but when this trail was on they sat, and they watched and they gossiped to everyone about it. And after it was over they basically quit soaps and just watched Court TV all day. sorry for hijacking the thread, lol.
Members JellicleCat
It's a bit strange that Luke and Laura's wedding is considered the most memorable moment, yet it's not even on the list over the most unforgettable weddings. You could add the years 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 to this post.... It wasn't a complete year for B&B without Stephanie going at it with Brooke.

Members DRW50
This brings back so many memories. Once I began watching Ryan's Hope, I was so moved by Helen Gallagher's words here.
Members Khan
Victor's first "back from the dead" story on Y&R made for seriously juicy, good drama. A sad reminder of what used to be.
Members EricMontreal22
At the risk of offending anyone, in the social conscious category, by "exceptional children" are they using a euphenism? And funny the 1995 GH mob shooting is so high--I don't think I see that on ANY list anymore, but I guess this was made just a few years later (and now every mob shooting on GH has blurred together.) Members DRW50
"Exceptional children" meant the Paul Martin/Ann Tyler and Holly/Fletcher Reade babies.
