The Lea thing was very intriguing. I hope it means that under this soft, sweet exterior that Jane is secretly a psycho. The show could use a character like that.

Lastly, there are no Kanes on this show at all. With the way they left things between Miranda and Bianca it is just unsatisfying for me and I hope they can at least get ER back to salvage Bianca as a mother.

This is why I don't like Eden in the role. She wasn't willing to commit upfront and now she's pregnant so we're stuck with her in the role and very little screentime. If Miranda is your lead young actress she needs a parent on the show full-time. I don't like seeing her orphaned in Pine Valley. She has no home and she's the lead character. Even Lea has an apartment. At the very least they could give Zach a house and put Miranda there.

Totally! Or that she at least has an intriguing past of some sort.

LOL at Celia winning the bid. Her guardian totally footed the bill. She looked STUNNING, forgot to mention that.

It was nice to have a "week" without Jesse, Angie and Cass.

Maybe I drank too much last night, but are you guys seriously swooning and cheering about HUNTER? The guy played by an actor that makes Andrew Trischitta look Oscar worthy?!

I know, it's weird. I haven't watched the second ep yet but I'm fascinated by this turnaround.

The question is what are those guys drinking/snorting/smoking when they make any positive comment about Hunter?

You'll be disappointed, Marceline, he's just as bad an actor as he ever was.

I think he's endless fun & entertainment and I genuinely like how his story's being developed. Clearly the show has (or had, who knows with Chip/Lisa now) a plan for his character down the road. I like the development with his industry parents being brought in & the real flirting (not bullying) with Miranda at the gala. Sure his acting is mostly bad - I totally could accept a replacement - but Covin is just unintentionally hilarious & cracks my ass up right now so I barely care. LOL. That's all.

Exactly. I really would have taken CBL or another recast over this rediculousness. Miranda is the lead character with no mother and an invisible 13 year old sister who apparently doesn't need school ever. At the very least I would have expected they give Zach an apartment set and have Miranda move in with him.

What fantastic episodes. I think this is the first week where there was not a single moment I kinda shook my head and thought "OK, I'll go with it." Yes, even with Hunter. OK, I did wonder about (spoiler for those who haven't seen the More previews)

The lack of Adam, but the previews have me pleased

I only watch these shows on TV and they do look amazing. Production values have improved so much from the beginning. And speaking of improvement, I can't get over how good AMC has gotten. The only thing missing is a strong Kane presence, but I'm willing to be patient since everything else is coming together so well.

They've had to do a lot of damage control with Celia, but it's working now. Now that she's out of Petey's immediate orbit I find myself liking her. She works REALLY well with Colby and I'm hopeful they keep that going for a long, long time. They feel very old school soap and it's nice to see them build a successful rivalry. On the subject of Petey, did anybody else get the Josh Duhamel reference? He starred in a movie called Win A Date With Tad Hamilton. I think that might be the inspiration for "Win A Date With Pete Cortlandt." Loooooved the cliffhanger and the previews for next week. Jason Derulo and JR vs Brooke, Angie looking radiant. I live for these soap events and this is one to remember.

Ah yes. Win a Date With Tad Hamilton starring one of my very best faves, Sean Hayes from w&G, and producer of Grimm, Hot In Cleveland, Hollywood Game Night. HazyMills Prods.

Yes. I agree. No mother around. No sister to talk to. No Grandma Erica. Aunt Kendall is missing. and yes, it is getting ridiculous.

Wow thanks for the imdb about Sean Hayes! I doubt anyone here knew *any* of that. Or, more probably most of us did (you forgot to mention he has a new sitcom coming out that is getting trashed in the early reviews--but he was great in Promises, Promises on Broadway and very nice when I met him at the stage door.)

Lindam, what did you actually think of the episodes, instead of just going on your rants?

Oh Eric, I think I love you.

David

I'm pretty sure that Adam's going to be Royally pissed that you came with me.

Colby

Double entendre intended.

(they both exchange laughs).

That piece of dialogue was priceless!laugh.png

Also the exchange between Opal and David was pretty entertaining including Opal's choice words to describe David. I saw a You Tube clip of Jill Larson on ATWT in the 80s and who was she portraying? A reporter, of course!tongue.png She does have the knack for reportage.

On two insignificant notes:

I'm glad that Zach didn't make it there to the Gala in two seconds to deliver the shoes and escort Miranda. On some soaps lately, there is absolutely no indication of a realistic passage of time. The fact that at least two scenes and several minutes passed before Zach showed up, was duly appreciated by me. If a 30 minute show can understand this, an hour long show has no excuse.

And Cara, that, I don't know what to call it, piercing across the cartilage part of the upper earlobe-- just OUCH! I liked that it showed a bit of edge and personality but just...OUCH.

I could've predicted that Pete's auction would end the way it did but the look on Colby's face was a worthwhile payoff.

Looks like the next week's episode will have some sparks if the clip of J.R.'s rant is any indication.

It would've been great to have seen Adam's reaction in the middle of all this. Hopefully we'll get this in Season 2.

Is it strange Colby has become my favorite character when I had zero use or care for her on ABC? I just love Brooke Newton and she really lights up whatever scene she's in.

Not weird at all--I didn't feel her for the first few episodes. I agreed with Vee that she seemed almost like a drag queen, but I think the writing and the acting have really made her a great character, and have added a great vixen element to AMC.
