TOLN Announces Season Finales of AMC/OLTL

If we're getting a break yet the shows go back into taping in two weeks, I suspect that we can look forward to a bunch of dopey video extras which is great because, honestly, I love the dopey video extras.

That just comes with the territory now.

Would be cool if they release deleted scenes and do episode commentaries.

Yeah I've learned to block all the BS

I think the surprise return is Victor dry.png

I realy doubt it, Jen made it sound like it was a fan favorite that hadn't been on yet. I was thinking Marty but that wouldn't affect anyone without Todd in town and I'm pretty sure he's gone before the season finale.

I still think PP should have learned and announced a Season 2 date (then again, if they missed the date, it would be even a worse reaction.) But I agree about the rest, especially the dopey videos.

Once again, I don't think they are as transparent as they need to be. This should be expected, but a time frame of when to expect the shows should ALSO be announced. For me personally, I think it would be best if they held off for 3+ months so they could return with more episodes per-week, which would help things like the OWN airings and also give them time to properly stockpile episodes. At the very least they should've announced the next filming dates for both shows so we know they're picking up production in August. By them leaving that out, it leaves me to wonder if maybe things have been pushed back once again.

Hopefully some good comes of this downtime. They should release a DVD box-set as well. There is no excuse since there aren't that many episodes. It's another easy stream of revenue.

Surely it's not Ron Raines as the shocking fan favorite, I hope not. I want it to be someone connected to OLTL. Mitch? Carlo?

I just did the math - assuming the same two episodes every Monday plan is kept, OLTL will air 40 episodes and AMC will air 44 episodes. So the last four won't air on OWN? LOL wtf.

Yes it must be an OLTL character. I am not ready for Mitch or Carlo back so soon--but I could see a reveal of someone behind all the tattoo business. Alex?

I thought that they had enough episodes to get through to the END OF September and then October would be the new writing team and new episodes, due to the union mess with the crew.

Just more of the same from PP. PP needs to stop messing with us, really now.

This is giving them too much credit, I'm sure, but they could replace one of the myriad rerun slots for AMC and show two new episodes that week.

Here's the quote from Jen a few weeks ago about a fan favorite return. But they weren't filming during this time so are these returns separate? Or was she being coy?

"Soaps.com: Any classic characters coming back who we can look out for?

Pepperman: We are in talks to bring back a very popular classic character and I’m not at liberty to say yet who it is. But the fans will be very excited by it. Because we are a half-hour show I want to make sure all of the characters on the canvas have story. "

How did she do that? She never said when he was returning from. (or she)

Well you assumed then, because nowhere did they even imply that.

SID is reporting that PP hs not announced yet wen the new seasons start.

The question is when and whether or not they plan to cut cast members (or recast characters) or cut airtime further than it's already been cut. I feel both cast are too large for the model they're working with ( a hour a week)

The shows are already a shell of their former selves. Casts are fine with a rotation thing in storylines. PP is going to cut themselves out of 2 fine shows.

Oh Iforgot about that--but yeah, I assumed it was for the second cycle...

I thought that too. Hopefully they do that. It does sound like they planned this whole "season finale" thing when they got the OWN deal though. Maybe they're doing this is as a way to keep all the internet/TV fans in sync with each other and as a way to entice Oprah to pick them up again for another "season"?
