In my area, they pulled the listings off of TVGN years ago though in some areas TVGN still has listings (though during Y&R they do not run them.) To get listings on screen where I live you have to pay the cable company more money per month as you have to either have advanced cable box or a DVR from them for each television beyond the first. If you have multiple televisions, it gets a bit pricey (about $10 a month per every tv and this is for the non-DVR cable box), so I wish I had the TVGN listings option still.

TVGN did a good job promoting the move of Y&R to their station by the in character ads on not just SoapNet (since I don't have Soapnet anymore due to cable dropping it) but also on CBS during the regular Y&R broadcast.

What is the point of repeatedly telling people here that the show is over. This isn't a frothing at the mouth board full of people who are going to go run shirtless in the street shouting "PP IS NOT FOR ME!" or "OWN MY ASS, OPRAH TRAITOR!!!!"

In my experience, Vee, you are the who struggles the most here to accept the fact people don't always agree with you. You constantly order others to STFU and demand they accept your pov as the only valid one. Unless you're a mod, I don't understand where you get off ordering Jonny or anyone to post somewhere else.

And for the record, ITA with you on JP. She's horrendous and soaps need to stop recycling lousy talent.

It takes some chuzpah for you to play the victim card now.

You're the one with a long pattern of trying to stifle differing povs. If someone doesn't agree with your take, you can't just civilly disagree so you insult them, call them blind, stupid, having no taste, etc., and then often tell them to STFU. That's wrong and you need to be called out for that even if the mods won't do anything.

What the hell Eric, No one here was telling Jonny to shut up. We were saying and if u look over the thread, you will see that many have told him:

If you feel its over fine, but dont anyone else how to feel and when they need to move on.

Attacking Vee or anyone over this is stupid especially when no one ever attacked Jonny about this,

John, I had no problem with those objecting to Jonny's posts about moving on.

I ONLY took exception to Vee saying "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here." Because that's a pattern of his to tell others their different povs aren't welcome here and that's wrong. He finds it off-topic, maybe it is, but I'm tired of reading him telling others to STFU. He doesn't have that right.

Exactly why I find it so annoying. People coming on saying "Get real people, it's dead!!!" repeatedly just strikes me as kinda... sad or something. It's one thing to bemoan the fact that you feel it's gone, but even the people here who have said they hold out hope, I've seen next to nobody saying "GUYS they are definitely coming back!" etc.

I decided to graph the OWN ratings. (Don't judge me. It was during a two-hour conference call.) Forgive me for the remedial nature of this. Excel and spreadsheets aren't my strong suit.

In the interest of comparing apples to apples, I left off the dates before 8/5 when OWN was showing multiple eps on the same day.

Interesting--they seem to both rise and fall at the same time (albeit with OLTL lower) though right at the end they seem to be evening out.

I'm a bit worried about even saying this but... While I think overall AMC was the stronger show--and I think it still has more name recognition, AND I know Oprah has a very wide ranging fanbase--could the fact that AMC focused so much on a beloved black couple (Linda--please don't come back) play a part?

    • But she's a DUPREE and that makes her immune to any and everything!
    • About the only thing that could really get me interested in this show right now would be a "Who Killed Victor?" storyline IF he stayed dead. The writing for him is atrocious! And the lineup of possible suspects would be most of the canvas. Months worth of great story if done well.....of course...not getting done with Griffith.
    • I really hope you’re wrong. Dani Desperate Dupree being right will make her even more insufferable than she’s already been.
    • I know this board has very strong opinions about Scheffer's reign which run the gamut from brilliant to the nadir of the series.  I'm one of the fans. 2001 - 2005 are, imo, the second best years for the series. The first being Marland.  As The World Turns won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series in '87 and '91. However, it wasn't until Scheffer came along that it won again...in '01 and '03. Plus it won for Best Writing Team in '01, '02, '04, and '05, an award it had never managed to win before and didn't again. When Scheffer left and Passanante was the main head writer (along with various other co-head writers) the show began to seriously tank. However, it wasn't just the writing. The budget was gone. The sets were made to be smaller or destroyed. There was all that weird hand held camera directing for a while. Scenes that were obviously shot in the hallway where the series was filmed. I think '06 - '10 is a roller coaster. There are some storylines I really enjoyed and some that were eye-rolling. Looking in the rearview mirror though, I can see that the actors, writers, directors, and crew were working their best with what money they had.
    • They are idiots! It seems crazy that Leslie is inserting herself so much into this investigation but everybody is falling into her traps. I find it to be an interesting back and forth and I'm still not completely sure who will win. I have a theory but I'm going to wait for more to develop before I say more. I feel like Haley has been more on the sidelines so I'm enjoying this new desperate streak she appears to be developing. I'm curious how it'll manifest overtime. I also agree with Dani that I am not convinced she's pregnant. I think she's trying to get pregnant but really just see's herself fading into the background and wants attention and validation from Dani and her family.
    • Thanks for sharing; the set, wow. Ten times better than the "penthouse" she lives in now (is that a surprise, though?).
    • I'd be happy to!

I just read the intro and first chapter and I'm already hooked. I know she had a co-author, but I can tell Kim is a firecracker and I'd love to have wine with her and talk sh!t haha. It makes reading the book pretty easy and entertaining. Intro - I had no idea she got a DUI! She shared 3 bottles of wine with a friend at dinner one night in LA, got in her car, was pulled over and thrown in jail overnight.  She admitted it wasn't her first time drinking and driving, but learned a valuable lesson that night. Out of the gate, she's not holding back or hiding anything. Chapter 1 - the announcement that GL was being cancelled. She was driving to Peapack and got a call from Bradley Cole who told her the news. First, that's BS that as one of the faces of GL, you hear the big news from a fellow co-star on your way to work. Granted, the "suits" were traveling to Peapack that day to tell the cast and crew, but still, seems icky. Ironically the news came on April Fools Day. Apparently that was the last day the network could decide whether to cancel or renew, but to Kim's point, couldn't they just pick the day before to avoid the callousness of the 'holiday'. Obviously a sad day in GL history. I thought it was funny, she said the one thing she thought of is "what would Susan Lucci do" in this situation, post-cancellation. And of course she said she'd "find something to hawk on the Home Shopping Network"  You all would know better than me, but part of the title of her book is "seven husbands" and in her intro, she uses Reva's full name: Reva Shayne-Lewis-Lewis-Spaulding-Lewis-Winslow-Cooper-Lewis-Lewis-O'Neill.  However, in the first chapter, she said Bradley Cole was "her 8th (or was it 9th?) husband". Well, Kim, that already contradicts the title of your book and your character's name you touted.
