I wouldn't mind that at all! The way she releases a new album every 3 months, she'd gonna run these producers ragged! (Perhaps Aaron Dessner does apply as her working with someone "newer" though).

Max Martin is the king of pop when it comes to producers.  The amount of hits/great songs he's been part of over the last 4 decades is unprecedented.  I would love it he Taylor re-teamed with him, plus she hasn't worked with him since the reputation album in 2017.

In the podcast she said she flew to Sweden between tour dates to record... which, of course, is Max Martin Central. It all looks like it points right there. And I am VERY READY for it.

12 tracks only.  All produced by Taylor, Max Martin and Shellback.  Pure pop Taylor is back!

The podcast was amazing.  Lots of funny moments.  We rarely see Taylor speak now (;)), so it was great seeing her talk for 2 hours in a non-interview setting.  She/Travis/Jason all have wonderful chemistry together.

Super excited about that! Can't wait to hear the first single, I hope it comes soon. And very happy the rollout isn't 6 months long, I hate that. 2 months is long enough lol

I had enough of the folksy era - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT was just about as much as I could take in that direction  I want fun, pop, dancey, and catchy! Please!

OK, impressions after FIRST and ONLY listen: This will take a couple more spins.

I really liked CANCELLED!, Wi$h Li$t, and TLOAS (especially the first), but I will go ahead and say it: My expectations were not met OR surpassed.

Why bring in pop superproducers Max Martin and Shellback for what is basically an Antonoff midtempo album? Where are the BIG choruses, the bridges, the catchy stuff?

Once I listen a few more times, and get used to the sound, I would not be surprised if my opinion changed. But as a FIRST listen? Kinda disappointed... :(

First listen - My girl is back. That's the wit and the sharp bitch I want to hear. The Fate of Ophelia!!!!!!! OMG. Taylor goes GAGA. That's the darkness I CRAVE. Hamlet come and save me! Actually Romantic - amazing melody and very catchy! Momma is on that toxic relationship train again. The Life of a Showgirl - I don't know, but this song gives me Madonna-vibes. American Life, but done The Taylor way. Sabrina!!!!!! Honey... - very light... cute... but again... super catchy. I heard some Ariana Grande stuff in there. 10/10. CANCELLED - BITCH, let's get to rock and roll!!!!!!!!!! Wood - WOOOOOOOOOOF. That retro Motown feel to it... makes it so special. Eldest daughter - I started crying. Tori Amos will be proud. Probably MY FAVORITE SONG OF THE ENTIRE ALBUM. So raw... so truthful. "SO MANY TRAITORS... SMOOTH OPERATORS!" Opalite - the kind of song... you find yourself listening to... passed out drunk in some club... and crying your eyes off. Gave me a bit of Miley Cyrus in there. FATHER FIGURE - NOOOOW BISH... NO. THIS. THIS IS MY FAVORITE. The melodies, the production... the lyrics... "I PROTECT THE FAMILY" Ruin the friendship - I couldn't take how amazing this album was at this point. One of the highlights - so fresh, a little bit young... like a ray of sunshine on my face. Her voice is like honey. Wish list - THE WANT THAT COMPLEX FEMALE CHARACTER. Momma is philosophical once again. They deserve what they WANT. AND I JUST WANT YOU - I'm crying my eyes off again. Elizabeth Taylor - I mean... Lana Del Rey would be proud of this song. Dramatic, atmospheric... I WANT A VIDEO.

OVERALL I'M hysterical. RIGHT NOW I feel like this is her best album EVER. I'M OBSESSED. I haven't done anything else, but listen to it today... and dancing in the living room like crazy. FAVORITES - ELIZABETH TAYLOR, FATHER FIGURE, ELDEST DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy you're enjoying it! I still have the same concerns. The reviews, other than Rolling Stone's, are VERY mediocre.

@Toupsare you alright? Are you recovering from how disappointing the album is?!

I think I'm having my American Life Part 2 moment... (That Madonna album that so many people hate... but I still think it's her masterpiece.) 😂 I just love Taylor's new album so much. To me... it's like a window to her soul. I never expected to love it so much, actually... Quite the contrary... I thought she could have a longer pause between releases and expected to be let down. But boy... how I was surprised. I would love to hear what @Toups feels about it too! For sure.

Honestly, I do think she could creatively benefit from taking longer gaps between albums and not just putting out things rather quickly just because she can. She’s almost 2 decades into her career, her core audience isn’t going to suddenly abandon her if she takes a few good years between albums.

Maybe with the impending wedding, she’s going to concentrate more on her personal life and it will be a longer wait for the next album. Maybe her divorce album is next (but likely her “motherhood” era before that, lol). 😛

Taylor Swift could move past Madonna and Rihanna on the Billboard Hot 100 #1 list with this album.

It's possible that in the next few years Taylor Swift could move past Mariah Carey.
