I'm guess with four comedies picked up, CBS is finally going to expand their comedies from 3 to 4 hours.

CBS passed on Beverly Hills Cop. WOW, that shocks me.

A re-tooled Unforgettable gets its second season summer run starting in late July. There were things I liked about the first season (and some things not so much) so I wonder how the retool will fare. I hope it does okay but I have a feeling there won't be anything after this.

I was surprised by that too. I thought for sure it was a slam dunk CBS was going to pick it up.

I hope Friends With Better Lives gets picked up. I really like the cast and of course I always love shows that are about friends.

Woohoo! Now I hope CBS will give it a good timeslot, maybe after TBBT since it's also a show about friends. I know you want CBS to go 2 hour comedy block on Thursday and I think that would be a good idea too. TBBT - FWBL - 2.5 Men - Mom.

I like that lineup. I can also see CBS putting it on Mondays after HIMYM instead though and giving Chuck Lorre's Mom that plumb post TBBT spot. This has to be the most comedies CBS has picked up in a long while. I think comedy expansion someplace on the schedule is inevitable and they have lots of options where to put these. I'm curious where CBS is going to put their two single cams. Honestly with Monday lineup being a mess, I'd move 2 Broke Girls back 8:30 after HIMYM and make the 9pm hour a single-cam hour, can't do much much worse that it is now. I fear though, CBS will dump em on Friday or something lame.

Mike and Molly pushed to mid-season but still has a 22 episode order.

I knew CBS would expand their comedy lineup on Thursday to two hours... NBC is sunk on Thursday night LOL

Person of Interest on Tuesday.. interesting. Will probably retain more of the lead-in from NCIS LA then Golden Boy/Vegas ever did.

Hawaii 5-O to Friday... they were getting their asses kicked by Castle on Monday so perhaps a move will do it good. Glad they didn't mess with their Sunday schedule.

YAY a Thursday Comedy expansion! Not sure about Millers leading into Crazy Ones into 2.5 Men. That seems bizarre. I would have probably had 2.5 as the 9pm anchor to be safe, but CBS must have a lot of confidence in Robin Williams.

Mondays: Glad they moved Hawaii Five-0, it's ratings fell hard this year (and never really lived up it's expectation). I would have probably swapped MOM and We are Men though.

Tuesdays: While CBS has had trouble with the Tuesday 10pm slot, I think POI should do well here.

Nothing else really changed.

I wonder if Mike & Molly will be the new Rules of Engagement? laugh.png

    • I agree with a lot of what has been mentioned before me. I think BTG desperately needs another family.  Character ages still throw me. There have been several times where I still think Martin is Vernon and Anita's child and then a character says something and I'm like oh right. It doesn't help that he hardly socializes with his parents or Kat. I do not care about the secondary characters... Ashley, Derek, Vanessa, Doug, Pamela, Joey, Jan, Mona, the gym dude can all go and I wouldn't care. The exception being Shanice. There is a decent hospital set and police station set but most characters have other jobs. They could have easily had characters interact at work and make it seem organic. Instead they had Derek showing up at someone's work let alone a police officer to talk about his quarrel with Ashley. Also, falling into the trap of having stories that soaps no longer have the budget for. That fashion show was tragic and so was the award gala. The potential trial between Naomi and Bill being dropped was probably due to lack of a courtroom set. However, how soapy would it have been if Bill had a heart attack at the trial and Naomi feeling guilty. It would have also been a way to easily redeem the character of Bill to Naomi but also Dani and Chelsea who would face what losing him would ultimately mean.
    • Not too upset with Martin and Bradley being married. It's a first for daytime, so I love that BTG came out of the gate breaking barriers. I hope that the show plays on their past in the most soapiest ways. This doesn't have to be Martin's first marriage. What if Bradley's parents were some real grifters or con artists? Does he have siblings?      I agree with/ @Cheap21    Kat gives me a smart businesswoman.  With everything she is currently dealing with I can see her becoming a shark in the boardroom. So I'm looking forward to that business storyline.
    • That's what happened with Hope Williams Brady on DAYS.  Started as rich princess, went to the police academy.   Became a cop.  Now consults for the I.S.A.
    • I know Curlee/Demorest tried to give Roger a conscience in regard to raping Holly, and Zas is magnificent in those scenes with Alex. But he kinda ends up blaming Adam and the fact he (well, really the writers) ignores raping Rita and being responsible for her and Ed's child's death make it less than convincing.  I do think during 89-93 they were careful to not whitewash his past with Holly, but his occasional bouts of conscience always seemed to be overridden by his obsession/lust for her. The only purely good thing I can ever recall him doing is helping Maureen during the blackout, and even then, had she lived, he would've found a way to call that favor in. I've kinda resisted saying it, but it's kind of clear to me Long was determined to have her own version of Erica Kane, and God help us all, it ended up as Reva Shayne. Although at least Kim could act. (Sorry LaLucci fans) Honestly, I'm not even sure CBS soaps ever a character as larger than life as Reva.
    • Regardless, I'd still like to see more episodes from the 80s...there is very little of Charlotte Greer, Kirklands and Greenberg's out there sadly.
    • A black family having a white maid would be a good subversion of stereotypes. Also want to say that while the overall show has many flaws, the biggest one that's legitimately stifling is the lack of a rival family.
    • I also do not like the bits I've seen with Delia during Labine's 83 return. I am glad when she came back for the last time in 1986, she allowed Delia to move on from Frank.
    • Thanks for the well-detailed reply. I'm fairly early in my viewing, so I have some time before it goes nuts. Thanks a lot! @kalbir and @DRW50 thank you so much. I am just approaching 100 episodes, so I'm good for now.
    • The Duprees as the main family isn't the problem, but the fact is that over 3/4 of the cast are Duprees.. so it limits coupling potential and also keeps the canvas too closed in. Too many female Duprees and no hetero, nor gay, male Duprees is also a problem.   I also agree with @DemetriKanethat the male characters are one note, and not very layered/interesting... outside of Bill, that is. To me, I would have focused on either Nicole's family and dynamics or Dani's family and dynamics instead of trying to introduce/develop both families at the same time.  Nicole's family is more developed and interesting with loads of storyline possiblities then Dani's family right now. And because MVJ and co decided to feature so many Duprees... we're less likely to be free of any outside characters like Ashley/Derek since they're the non-Dupree part of the canvas.
