"Legacy character"

"soapy goodness"

"Todd"

Lol dead

And not meant as an attack but on this board Carl, your sarcastic usage of soapy goodness is the only time I read it.

I envy you. Too much of other sites, DC, and Nellie Olsen burned that term into my brain.

No people were misusing it for awhile which is why Carl uses it the way he does now.

How is triangle overused by fans?

For awhile I couldn't figure out that ff meant fan first. I had been away from soap message boards for awhile and came back and they were using that slang. On twitter ff is follow friday!

I used to think it was fast forward and when someone would say "I'm a [character]FF" it meant they fast forwarded that particular person. laugh.png

I thought that's what it meant too! I would see people say they were ffs of characters/couples I hated and thought we were agreeing the same!

Oh and chemistry.

People seem to think that chemistry seems to justify putting two characters together romantically. You can have two characters who have chemistry but don't need to be linked romantically. On some boards, they don't seem to understand this.

Wait, lemme head over to the SOC boards right quick...

(takes a few moments)

Okay, how about, uh, angst.

If your reading over SOC then actor bash needs to be on your list. Except its only actor bashing when you hate certain characters or say certain actors can't act.

"Chem test" is an annoying one, too. Like...come on, let's not get that scholastic.

Vile -- for a while, it seemed as if any dastard deed on a soap was "vlie"

Balance -- another term that's lost meaning, it seems. People use it without knowing what they're saying.

"Back to basics" -- see above

Diva -- Carly Benson is not a diva.

Oh, how could I forget:

"real fan"

It's not even just fans using the term. RC accused people of not being "real fans" on twitter.

Chem test is used everytime characters share scenes now with the opposite sex. Not everything is a chem test.

I really really really don't like him. Ugh.

Speaking of school subjects. "History." "Nod to history." "Using history." A character goes to a psychologist named Dr. Smith. Another character saw a chiropractor named Dr. Smith thirty years ago. "Nice nod to history!"
