If DirecTV picks these soaps up I'll be very disappointed. First, it limits the tv audience and they used Passions to launch their network and threw it to the dogs. From what they said, Passions had good ratings, but it seemed like they just used it for positive publicity and new subscribers because they know people are unlikely to unsubscribe once they're comfortable with the service. I remember being very upset around that time. I was one of the fools who jumped over to DirecTV.

I love their bootleg The View set, complete with coffee mugs. That OLTL book on the table is almost as old as Andrew.

I don't like the idea of leaving those women alone with the kid, even if he is of legal age.

That last video looks like an al Qaeda video dispatch.

DEAD

She looks psycho "I was trying to be your friend Disney..... you stuck your foot in the trap"

Oh.... they were just canceling television shows it's not that deep mellow.png

You have to take into account what kind of demos USA wants to reach. I think they skew more male than female, and AMC/OLTL wouldn't fit with their programming.

If they could get the shows into some slot on Lifetime or even TBS, I'd call it a day. God knows TBS will run basically anything. But I really have no idea.

How is this the first I am hearing of these lunatics and their cause?

Simply asking...

If AMC/OLTL were to air in the late hours (after 11:00 PM) on a cable network. Would you watch them?

    • Engaging for a moment with the topic with titan, Jill is a skilled line producer who maneuvered herself well and leveraged key veterans at various shows for maximized award potential even with lousy stories or taste. But she's never been the creative she fancied herself to be without talented writers behind her, and as an OLTL fan it was fitting to see her knocked down in power and influence after she nearly destroyed GH, the ABC flagship, in under a year when left to her own devices. (Megan McTavish may be insane but her comments about Jill and having to grudgingly write Kale Browne three days a week at her behest were funny.) Like a lot of the industry she's got certain skills, but she also has a faded bag of tricks that has been mouldering since 1992. Which is a part of why it was such a hoot to see Jill appear out of the shadows like a leviathan in that video. Of course she's at it again. Who will be the next blonde white chick named Courtney in 2026? Riveting stuff for Gen Z.
    • Kat vs Eva is so complex because this feud goes beyond the typical 'good sister/bad sister' trope employed on soaps.  And the gist of the feud goes back to their father with Kat so insecure over not being the only daughter that she's going to lengths even Eva wouldn't go to in order to remove her sister. Kat is just like her aunt Dani in this regards (i.e. going too far even if in the right).
    • Just to confirm, Belle isn't named for Isabella Toscano, correct?  It would be nuts for John to name his daughter after his dead wife, after he wound up with Marlena, right?

I was reading her wiki, when the thought came to mind.  But, I also have a vague memory that Belle was named after Beauty and the Beast's Belle, or some other lore. And Rachel's named after Kristen's mother, so this seems wrong.
    • I was thisclose to taking Kat's side today because of all that unnecessary bashing from Martin and Eva... but then Kat just had to open her mouth to Eva

    • Because Kay Alden (a female writer living in Chicago who had a big crush on Eric Braeden) wanted to write some scenes for Lori Brooks (a female writer living in Chicago who had a big crush on Victor).  The whole storyline was self-indulgent and foolish.

    • Shouldn't this really be Bold opening?

    • -- Jesus, that was bad. -- If we're going to bash Will's face-making, we can't let Luna off the hook. All that scrunched-face crying was annoying. -- Still no explanation as to how Luna escape, leading to utter stupidity that she gets away AGAIN while Will just stands there. -- Meanwhile, the entire cast hilariously gets texts about the jail escape and heads to the beach house.

    • I knew Ray Wise looked familiar (beyond How I Met Your Mother, which I also watched, where he replaced Eric Braeden!).
