OLTL: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I go to Provincetown a couple times each year. Our friend has a condo there so I went up to work on revising my novel. I took at writing class at Castle Hill in Truro back in 2005. None other than Guiding Light director Harry Eggart was in the class. He was writing a mystery set backstage at a soap. Very talented scribe. The teacher and I had a fun time talking with Harry about GL, Kelly, Nola, and Bert Bauer.

How come Josh Kelly didn't say anything about Cutter being the manager of Shelter too, since Kassie DePaiva and and OLTL associate producer also confirmed that he manages the club as well on their twitter accounts?

According to a conference call interview (via FERENCOMM) that Josh Kelly did with Melissa Archer that was posted on Soaptown USA last Monday, Josh Kelly is asked by Vel Lee from Buzz Radio about if it will ever be explained how Cutter got out of prison:

Vel Lee: My question is for Josh. I must admit I might have been asleep. So please forgive me. But is it going to be explained or was it explained before I went of the air; I thought your character was in prison somewhere.

Josh Kelly: I was.

VL: And how did he get out? And now co-owns a club/bar with Blair. I just - I might have missed it somewhere, but you know.

JK: Well it hasn't been explained yet and I don't know when it will be explained. But I think it's going to come out because right now Cutter is kind of playing a - not a catch-up, but he's trying to stay a step ahead of his past I think. And so I think it lends itself to maybe the past catching up with him. So I think personally it will be explained, but I don't know when.

    • It's always hot when he's onscreen
    • True. So it must be the heat.   LOL. Oh, you.
    • That's a lousy ad. They didn't even choose good headshots. That's the least attractive I've seen Gregory Harrison look in his entire career. He looked hotter on GH last year! And CBS would keep bringing over ABC or NBC actors (more often ABC) for their soaps, further gutting their identities. Sad all around. Of course, they are the only network to have more than one soap on the air, so who am I to judge?
    • He always looks a snack to me lol!  Yes Blue is his color for sure! Those arms of his are huge *must not think dirty thoughts*
    • Maybe trying to ramp up the nostalgia factor? The only original characters left on the show were Angela, Lance, and Chao-Li. But FC hadn’t been watched by too many since 1987 and the finale didn’t bring back any old living characters like Emma, Cole, Peter Stravos etc.
    • 5-13   That was kinda meh except for the coda. Liam figuring out that Hope knows he's dying. And ending it on that. Good acting.   Oh, Luna. smh. But I guess I do look forward to see how she expects to wiggle her way into Finn's life. And uh oh at Sheila and seeing the wheels start to turn again. Honestly, he's been looking like a whole snack the last few weeks. And I can't decide if it's just the heat here lol or if he's just been working out more than usual.  But blue and shades of it has been such a great color on him.
    • For the Nurses Ball, I don't like what GH has done in recent years having U/5 professional dancers in the back of all the staged numbers -- nobody we recognize but they are wearing medical garb wardrobe as they dance alongside the GH characters. I'd prefer to see only the GH characters dancing and singing imperfectly.
    • Oh that's a good point! I was saying only that I'd prefer that the product placement not be heavily featured by the cameraperson during a stressful scene, because it takes me out of the moment. I don't mind it being part of the background of scenes -- most of the time, I like it. I saw a similar tweet from another BTG viewer that said something along the lines of Tide being for when there is (emotional) mess to clean up...  and Febreze is for the calming after the mess.
    • These writers and Frank (especially Frank) have to go!!!
    • I remember the articles and fan letters complaining about Alfonso so I wouldn't be surprised if Alfonso didn't want to talk about her time on the show. She was probably used to being the fan favorite. She got a lot of flack for being the "Ana Alicia replacement" and that hurt her from the beginning.  It's odd that CBS would think that hiring Alfonso would lure Days viewers to the show, but they kept doing that to their daytime soaps (as did NBC with ABC actors) and it rarely worked.
