I agree. Although, honestly from an copy writer/ad copy perspective, I don't mind the minimalist approach. I think we're all far more critical in an 'inside baseball' kind of way but to the person who perhaps saw very little of these shows when they were on TV or not at all, the billboard might just add enough intrigue for them to got to the TOLN or HULU sites to see what it's about.

If it's a billboard, you don't want to make it too busy for the people who may be driving past. You want to entice with just enough information to send them to their smartphone or laptop to see what it's about. And if they don't have either on hand, perhaps they'll remember Hulu or TOLN and Google it, at the very least. These days people (and by people, I mean the pros in Ad Copy and their clients) are very much into 'White Space'. I'm thinking this is why the billboard looks this way.

Now if the billboard were to go up in Times Square, for instance, where the major of traffic is pedestrian-- that is where you want a Splashy and Colorful Billboard. Perhaps the same photos that were use in the initial PR. People have the opportunity to stop long enough to gawk for a moment. And I can see tourists whipping out their cameras to take a picture of the billboard. I don't know if the PP has the budget for a Times Square billboard, but that would be the ultimate, I think, and that would be ideal for them to really spend their efforts there.

I do think AMC's billboard should have said ALL My Children, but I suspect, as others have said, this is a two (or more) pronged campaign and in two-three weeks they'll replace them with more info. Otherwise, as fun as they find them, it is kinda pointless.

As for Cutter's jacket? That's not flower or jizz--I think that's shiny detailing that just got picked up by the light...

Yeah, they should definitely follow up.

Hopefully as the date approaches, they'll intensify their efforts.

JMO, but next week would be a great time to start dropping more breadcrumbs (so to speak). The Y&R and GH Anniversary media blitz will have come to an end by then and AMC/OLTL will have more room to capture more media attention. Damn, I wish I were working on these campaigns! (LOL)
