Ever had a preconceived notion about (or, in some cases, deservedly dismissed) an actor or artist, only to have them transform you from a Doubting Thomas(ina) to a full-fledged believer?

Maybe it was a live performance on stage, a great turn in a movie, a fantastic album, a revealed side to them, or some other occasion that changed your mind about them.

Ewen McGregor in Moulin Rouge. I didn't know he had all that in him, but I loved the fact that this mere actor was willing to become a singer and go at it with such gusto. I became a fan.

Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys and again on Friends. The Friends bit with his semi/sort of hair flip mocking the Rachel character really showed a great comic potential. I love seeing dramatic serious actors try comedy or singing.
