I admit, I love anime opening and closing credits, but I don't expect anything like this with soaps.

i would be completely awesome if they ever they did that.. I have 3 lists one for each AMC, OLTL and GH of anime closings I would love to see made like that..

this one I don't know I would love if they this into an AMC one.. (the blonde girl would've either been Babe for the 2007 version and Colby for the 2011 one)

of course I think I'd keep the song in Japanese, or translate it into English

The theme/opening isn't really a huge deal for me, even though I always depend on a show's opening sequence to fully put me in "the zone" to watch it (and the closing credits to serve as a...."closer"...to the experience). I loved the previous AMC theme, but if they were able to change to that one from the original theme in 1990, then I have no problem whatsoever with them changing this one now.

I would have assumed that, being the cast is much smaller, they would have credited the actors in the opening, but I guess not.

not unless it's that time era..

It doesn't have to be. I mean, it could have consisted of screen caps (from current episodes) in the form of snapshots that, at the end, are revealed to be from pages in the photo album. All with the original or Barber/Rose theme playing underneath.

Screen caps and stills would be very static. I don't think that works.

One other tidbit I can share, "on the next All My Children" is back...

awesome.... I wonder if we'll get mid-show bumpers as well, I doubt it but would be awesome

loved the 1999-2003 bumpers, but I also loved the 2004-2006 ones and the 2006-2008 ones too

Who is Rose? AFAIK, that theme was written by Billy Barber and Bob Israel.

You know, Darn...I always return to the same conclusion. I am thrilled for those who have campaigned like hell to get this show back. It's a classic story of triumph in the face of adversity. And I pray the reboots meet PP's expectations and so much more (in spite of what I said during my unfortunate, public breakdown earlier this week). But, in the end, my memories of what AMC used to be, when Pine Valley was both my home away from home and my ideal hometown, are etched too deeply into my mind for me to appreciate the new episodes. So, IOW: no, I don't think I will plan to watch. God bless 'em and all that, but...*shakes head*.

I completely standard. A question, did you stop watching AMC before it went off the air? Because the show to me at the very end didn't remotely resemble the show I watched as a child. That drove me away faster than the idea of these reboots could.

Tiny tangent: I feel like it's gotten to the point where networks soaps are/were purposely awful. There is no way anyone could make the version of AMC we saw in it's last few years or the GH we see today and say they think it's quality television. I just don't believe it.

I thought Earl Rose co-wrote the theme with Billy Barber. My bad.

Maybe you're right. Especially on the Internet, that sort of opening might come across as static and boring. But I singled out "The Waltons," because I feel like their opening sequences did a particularly wonderful job of evoking, for regular and uninitiated viewer alike, the series' core values of family and the so-called "brotherhood of man." Just like AMC did with the original opening. :)

Nor did it resemble to me the ALL MY CHILDREN Mama Khan and I looked forward to watching throughout the '80's. But I can't say I stopped watching AMC altogether before it went off the air. I didn't watch all the time, but I didn't watch nearly as much as I should.
