Is this another Disney thing? It is very unexpected. Does this mean that GH itself was being resentful not allowing a OLTL commercial during GH and not ABC? I'm so confused.

Not to be uncharitable, but Atkins never was much of a draw in his own right. The support he did have was for taking off his clothes, and even that wasn't enough to make that stripper movie sell.
He probably got more career benefits from, years later, being in that nude photo book with Josh Duhamel and Frank Grillo (among others) than from being on Dallas.
His casting, along with others like Barbara Carrera, shows how the powers that be at Dallas had lost grip of what made sense for the show. Dallas was not that type of camp or that type of fantasy material for gay men.

@Franko That movie “A Night in Heaven” turned out to be a major flop, Atkins “won” the Razzie Award, and director John G. Avildsen later disavowed himself from the fIick. Atkins career went into a major downturn after leaving Dallas.
Similar to Lois Chiles the season before?
But I do remember Atkins playing Linda Gray’s husband/partner in the 80’s Diva Christmas movie a few years back and recall they have maintained a good friendship over the years, which is is good but it didn’t translate well on screen.

Thanks. I think there was another version around too - and there's also a full version of both those episodes at a Georgia university site, I think.
I wish all those disco performances were available. The only others I've seen are Bertie Higgins (notable for Nola thinking back to her Casablanca fantasy) and Jennifer Holiday (notable for seeing Trish getting down in the background).

It does have frustrating gaps. Between recaps, German episodes and what's up in English, I've cobbled together a lot of what went on, at least concerning Vanessa.
Someone brought up The Fishing Trip again, and I began to wonder why the Spauldings and Bauers are even connected to it. Other than Bill's death, the Bauers are barely impacted by it. Hillary isn't even invited to the big explanation party. And other than blaming some of the loose morality of the men on Brandon, he doesn't seem to matter. And Eli doesn't bother going after any of Bill's or Brandon's progeny until the very end, when they just happen to be at a meeting where he can blow everyone up at once.
