Kinda relates to both soaps but just a random observation after realizing pretty much all of OLTL's cast from the end would be back (NOT comparing the soaps cast LOL) it makes me both really thrilled so many actors from both soaps are returning and yet really sad that they, plus most of AMC, were all just ready and available lol. Of course, actors are often "available" but you guys know what I mean.

She ain't kidding. She cut it off at the exact moment the segue would have cut into an Ingo picture. Good work keeping it on topic to the micro-second, df ;P

I'm more "fearful" of writers I know even up to the great Agnes Nixon. Hopefully Marlene will be a pleasant surprise. I want to enjoy AMC as much as I did in Megan McTavish's really good years (1992-1993, 2003-2004) and hopefully she brings that.

David & Jill are so cute in that ET video.

I think I know what you mean. You wish that other people appreciated these actors and their work as much as we do.

In a just world someone like Jerry Ver Dorn, Vincent irizarry, Florencia Lozano or Debbi Morgan would have their pick of jobs.

It looks like the AMC and OLTL photo shoots had a completely different vibe. I think that's good

Very true about being more fearful of the writers we know. I really liked McTavish's AMC. No, not the dreck, of course, but I think she 'got' the show for the most part. It's easy to hate McTavish but she was the last writer to even care to bring back Mark, or Tom, or Livia or Mimi (even if it was botched) etc. Not that it gives her a pass for the crap we got, but I really do blame a lot of interference. Anyway, don't want this to turn into a McTavish debate LOL.

Yup. It's really a shame daytime actors can't really find work. Aren't they all just "actors" at the end of the day? Clearly, no. They'll never get the credit they deserve for the work they put in. Yet, Natalie Hall was just in a Hallmark movie. LOL. Hallmark and Lifetime sure love the "soap actors" I've noticed. Guess Lifetime doesn't have any former sitcom moms to pick from?

Yes to the AMC/OLTL photo shoots having a different vibe. I loved it. AMC just felt 'classy' and 'sexy' while OLTL (no not 'trashy') just felt ... edgier and not as 'glossy' so to speak. I'm not really finding the words. I like both looks. Very fitting.

I think I know what you mean too...you think some of the actors are really talented and should be working as much as they choose and not waiting for the phone to ring. I liked David and Jill too, though I think the idea of Adam and Opal would be disturbing.

ETA: I think the AMC photo seemed more consistent, while the OLTL had more variations.

Right.

I mean, I'm sure they weren't just 'waiting for the phone to ring' (I hope not! lol) and I'm sure they have other aspects of their life that occupy them and other work they do but yeah, it's kinda sad to think they were all just available 2 years later.

Hey allmc2008, Debbi answered your quesion. LOL.

?: Are Actors allowed to go on the message boards? Like Soap Opera Network or Soap Central?

Debbi: Good question, not sure...will have to find out.

^^; Love that they used that classic Erica meltdown clip when they talked about Susan Lucci ;-) What a great scene.

And David Canary was all over Jill Larson at the end...LOL!

So glad I didn't have to wait to watch that, the ET special still hasn't even aired yet over here. Thanks!

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
    • TBF, I don't think we've seen her interact enough with the "have-nots" to know if she is or isn't. It's possible, but I don't think you can say that from her interactions with Eva and Silkpress.
    • You're right - though I did confuse his name with an actual actor who was on Dynasty.

    • "Might" is not "is". And I was talking about the specific case about her attitude to Eva.
    • But she can still be a priveliged elitist. She might have the same attitude to anyone from 'the wrong side of the tracks' whether they had an agenda or not. Nicole seems to be an outlier in her family. Her parents, kids and sister seem to think themselves above reproach.
    • Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book. But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.
