Not sure I'd call people who made bit appearances a legacy family.

I do given they have history on the show, even if they weren't prominent like the Q's, they still were part of GH

The Barringtons made much more than bit appearances, especially from 1984-1986. Anne Jeffreys (Amanda) was appearing in more episodes in a year than today's contract players do. When Derek became involved with Lorena, Monica's cousin, the Barringtons became a part of the Quartermaine family. While she & Lila sometimes butted heads, they remained the best of friends until the end.
