I'm not counting tweets as confirmation unless they come from the source. I'm not trying to be bitchy but I simply don't consider Twitter a good source of anything but drama. Who/what confirmed Hartley? Because unless it came from her camp or PP, I consider that rumor.

MEK and Bobbie Eakes had some of the worst anti-chemistry I can remember on AMC.

Ahhh, thank you. I admit to being way too suspicious of PP news but I'm just not accepting anything but "official" verifiable information as fact. I consider anything else rumor.

I have absolutely no desire to see Dixie ever, ever again. I like Cady but I feel like Dixie is complete played out. I was terribly disappointed with her role in AMC's final days. Her convoluted, rushed resurrection, the insane way everyone just accepted that she was back as if she'd only been away traveling, the way Tad/Cara was aborted just to accommodate her return, the contrived engagement...all of it was just awful.

Frankly I don't think the show "needs" Tad either. I agree with Carl that he tends toward self-righteousness especially where David is concerned and he has an uncanny ability to infect other characters with the same quality (see Jesse vs. David). For me, Tad's only value is in his friendship with the Hubbards and his past relationship with Cara which I found unexpectedly sweet. The character itself became little more than a white Heathcliff Huxtable.

They could make Tad interesting again though he has kids. They don't even need to make him an irresponsible parent type. They need to explore layers and maybe re-explore him and Opal's early life together. Erica never really lost her edge after the birth of Bianca. They could have Tad a caring parent that puts his kids first. Maybe the next "Joe Martin" but with a temporary edge. I would like Damon to return because Tad having to raise a gut who is in his late teens/early twenties would be able to evolve Tad by having him see things through Joe's perspective. Though I really hate that Damon repeated Tad's mistake with Liza because that seemed forced.

I'm with you. That's why I didn't report on the Prospect Park news until I could confirm things on my own, which is why I posted something on January 1st and not before.

If this is real, I'll be fascinated to see what kind of new characters are added to the canvas. IMO, that will be just as important as who returns.

I have to say that I am enormously grateful Cartini didn't try importing AMC actors/characters to GH but I can't help but enjoy the delicious irony of the fact that their insistence on trying to resurrect OLTL by any means necessary is probably going to screw GH, nuOLTL and the actors involved with both.

If this actually happens then PP should try to rig up some type of little event with that pilot Josh Duhamel is doing about a dying soap. He was on AMC, after all, and they'd get some free publicity.

If they have flexible filming schedules, I can't see the issue with landing someone like Josh Duhamel for an 'arc.'

That thread was inspired by a discussion we started yesterday on this thread.

Neither do I. Dixie stopped being one of my favorite characters a long time ago. However, if MEK's return is a sure thing, then which other options do we have? Kill her off again? Send her out of town permanently? As much as I don't care for Dixie, I also don't believe it's fair to keep yanking apart her and Tad, at least not to their fans (...if they're still out there).

Frankly, PP was better off not inviting back MEK. That way, you could say that, in the intervening period from the ABC finale, Dixie and Tad decided to move their family away from Pine Valley.

I think they could say JR ended up shooting himself(and dying) and Dixie and Tad moved away cause the memories got to be too much

From the final cast? Susan Lucci of course. I'd assume they're talking to Thorsten Kaye and Alicia Minshew. Both of them are based on the east coast, so I could see this being an attractive option for them.

TK lives in Connecticut so if the film their, it's practically in is backyard, I can see him doing it, but probably not full time, same with Lish cause she was ready to leave the show anyways before it was cancelled. Doesn't David Canary live in CT as well? maybe we'll get some Adam occassionally

I admit I'm a tad bit excited about this, but only a tad. I'd rather the shows just be done as they were. Bad enough Carlivati crapped on OLTL fans endings, I don't have faith in PP to hire someone who will do either show justice
