HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Hey you guys. Danielle Parker will NOT be reprising her role as Emma on AMC. Be sad.

Hello! A few of you have asked me again about the All My Children reboot and if Emma and I will be a part of it. At this time, I have not been contacted. With it looking like the show has moved 5 years and I am probably to young to now play Emma. I am very excited that the show will live on! Thank you to all the amazing hard working fans that never gave up. AMC Forever!! Love, Danielle

How would that be in any way in ABC's best interests? To promote a show they cancelled...?

I'm asking genuinely, would there be any monetary benefit to ABC to promote these shows going to the internet? I have no idea how their contract with PP works (my understanding is that PP bought the rights to the shows and ABC has to pay them for any usage, so essentially ABC's cleaned their hands of OLTL/AMC...). Everyone suggesting promotion or crossovers with GH just bewilder me.

I believe Disney owns stock in Hulu. Or something.

I think I read Prospect Park pays a yearly licensing fee to ABC for the rights to produce the shows. (Once they have the rights though, Prospect Park wants what they paid for, which is why there's this tussle over the use of the OLTL characters.)

So the longer the shows are on PP, the longer ABC will continue to get the fee.

Disney owns 1/3 of Hulu. Comcast owns another 1/3 and News Corp. owns the final piece.

ABC owns the shows, but licensed the rights to the shows and their characters to Prospect Park. Prospect Park pays ABC a yearly fee, but loaned GH the OLTL characters for a fee of their own. Either which way, they both are paying each other for a piece of something.

That's such a nice message from her. AMC is putting all its eggs in the older characters basket in terms of returnees. I see the OLTLers who are all excited about their child actor signing back on and I think AMC is missing some opportunities for excitement with the 5 year jump and the clean slate for anyone under 30. There seems to be a lot of this "AMC hasn't contacted me" stuff from actors who would be interested, across all ages, moreso than OLTL.

Oh well! I'll still be watching!

Do people really care about Ryan's unnecessary daughter anyway?

Thanks for the answers about ABC/PP, everyone.

I don't remember, did Annie ultimately take Emma with her or was she left with Ryan?

She was with Ryan. Annie was still in Oakhaven when AMC went off the air!

Matthew Goldfarb and how does this factor into the soap storyline?

Just for that she ought to post a picture of something really stupid to see if he will ask again. LOL

The other girl's a pretty close ringer for Shenaz Treasury. Neela? I liked that other girl. Yes, we're down to dissecting this possibly irrevelant minutiae.
