HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

He's been on and off GH almost roughly the same length of time or slightly more, I think.

I just realized, Howarth has been on GH as Todd way longer than he was back on OLTL at the end. That shiet ain't right lol.

Which one could argue would make him a "GH" star....

ABClisenced OLTL to PP . They had ask PP to use Starr Todd John. PP said yes but ABC & GH always knew that if PP got OLTL up and running then PP could legally take those characters back to OLTL. PP is in the right here.

Not trying to be rude, but when I see people defending them it pisses me off. They're not some great saints that got played by big bad ABC

If they thought they'd get these shows up and running at some point they should have said NO when ABC wanted to use the characters

Are the actors legally obligated to play the roles on PP? Or does the contract with ABC trump PP. Law student......

so the actors are basically SOL thanks to PP, unemployed, that is not right and recasting three main roles, PP is just too stupid to live, even stupid old me knows that is not going to work, why can't they make Easton Caleb, he is nothing like John and existed before John did and the other two make them new characters that are nothing like Todd and Starr

I understand what you are saying, but they did license them to PP so they had to expect that at some point they not be able to use these characters. If ABC never thought that PP could get AMC/OLTL off the ground again at all then why even waste time entering into a contract with them to start with?

Yeah I don't disagree but to pretend they're stars not due to at all to their long history on OLTL playing these popular characters is ridiculous

We all know KA wants to stay on GH cause her boyfriend best friend Chad Duell is there lol

not from what I understand, their contracts are with ABC not PP

The actors aren't legally attached to PP whatsoever, I wouldn't be surprised if ABC is asking them to though

PP are definitely not saints.

I think FV/RC made the right move last January - they wanted OLTL to live on in some way and PP had utterly failed. No one thought it would work again. In that time, ABCD has reconsidered the soaps, OLTL included, and GH is thriving. And they brought some OLTL fans with them, me included, although I was already a GH fan.

At the same time, though, they knew there was always a chance this could happen. And if PP can actually get this off the ground and make it work with reputable, decent people BTS at those shows (if not always in upper corporate management) and a decent, professional setup, then I think they deserve that chance. The actors in particular deserve that. And in that case, then RC and FV would have to recognize, IMO, that their efforts succeeded, that they weren't in vain and that at the very least it's time to share the characters.

Personally I wouldn't want any of them back full-time on OLTL except Todd, GH can have the others but for guest appearances. I even like Todd on GH and would kind of miss him there. But I really don't think this will end quite as messily as some people think it will.

This brings up a lot of COURT cases between the actors, unions, ABC and PP

Yep. They are. And, KA and ME's are 3 year contracts. RH's is a year.

I have no idea why Prospect Park thinks they are hot [!@#$%^&*] and are allowed to do this to 3 living breathing human beings. Quit [!@#$%^&*] them over PP. Quit!
