Members KMan101
Bianca and JR, if around 30, COULD have teenage children. They'd have to be 14-15 and LOOK 14-15, not 30-somethings playing teenagers to parents played by 30-somethings.

Members Angela
A lot of benefits to this in terms of crafting story and character re-crafting considering the damage done to so many characters with the last few regimes. I'd jump the show ahead 5 years. I have go drop this of to my mother's mother. I have to go drop this off to Erica. Your mother told me...
Members SFK
It's way too soon to age A.J. and Miranda to high schoolers. When you age the kids you age their parents too and J.R. and Bianca are too young (and should stay their current ages) to be playing parents to high school aged children. Members Jonathan
Well, if they age them, I hope they stay that age for a while. I don't like how one minute these kids are in high school and the next minute they're running multi-million dollar companies.
Members SFK
Exactly, which is what I was just thinking about Colby. She and Cassandra and their crew were the teen scene not that long ago and now they're the early twentysomethings, Colby most likely involved at Chandler. I understand the need for teens but I would introduce more characters like teen mom Maya rather than SORA kids like A.J. Teen storylines usually lead to teen pregnancy, and J.R. and/or Bianca becoming grandparents, wow, I just can't even with that already (not that it isn't possible, my mom was a grandmother at 35, but...). Members marceline
Really? I thought there were quotes from some people saying that AMC was picking up in real time. I'd be thrilled to learn I was wrong about that. Me too. IMO, it's easier to "backdate" adult characters like Bianca and JR than to soras kids like Miranda and AJ. If they want to make AJ/Miranda/Emma/Spike/etc into teenagers, that's fine with me but at least give us a reason to buy into it.
Members EnglishTea
I don't there have been any direct quotes about timelines, especially with AMC where the HW was just announced, and the cliffhanger might still be a factor.

Members Vee
That's not going to work here unless the teens are real young, or they start decking out Eden Riegel or Christina Bennett Lind and whoever the J.R. recast is in granny glasses and Ma Joad buns and sweaters, like they did with Karen Lynn Gorney as Tara to try and make her look like she could be geriatric enough to be the mother to both Chris Lawford's Charlie Brent and Kelsey Jefferson. Members EnglishTea
Jill Larson is less than 10 years older than MEK. Cady M is only around 10 years old than JY's JR. John McCook is only about 7 years older than Ronn Moss. If AMC's goal is eventually having the youngest generation rule the playground than it totally makes sense. I think the first 13 weeks of the show will have on several recurring veterans (or they will even put them on contract for the first 13), then they will fade out, and Opal will take the spot as top senior, the second generation will drive story a little longer, but eventually they will end up supporting the youngest generation, who will take center stage. Members Vee
The difference is all those characters grew into it or had parents who projected older. Young and Riegel/Lind don't, and their kids never had a preteen/tween stage. I can handle it if they're youngish teens - not hardbodied twentysomethings. Members EnglishTea
At the moment, neither Bianca seem to have been contacted, so maybe they are going older. According to someone (sorry don't want to track it down in the thread), Luke and Charlotte are in high school. If they were freshman, that would make them between 13 and 14.
