WTF!!!!!

I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Any idea when? ... Also, I want to say I was jumping for joy to see that Opal will be back. I was hoping she would be. Her character is funny and provides great home truths; she's not someone I would associate only with Erica or Tad. She is also someone they can build familial relationships around if they bring back Petey or some of Tad's children.

Carole Shure worked on AMC at one point as well.

Going back however many pages, I'm glad that it looks like Vimal and Viki (sounds like a new sitcom) will be on the show. I really liked Vimal. And Erika, you can't go wrong with her.

I loved the scene in Rodies when Victor Jr and Vimal are both drunk and Vic ask him if it had turned into a gay bar because Rex, Joey, and Cutter were stripping

I forgot to mention, I remember ATWT fans were not that enamored of Jessica Klein when she was a headwriter. I didn't know she had such a background with daytime soaps as a regular writer too; I thought she just came to ATWT from primetime. I may be mixing things up, but I feel like some of the talk online would bash her as a primetime writer. Back in the day, fans did not have as much information about the writers. She was considered an improvement on Stern and Black but I don't remember anyone posting about missing her after she left. After she left, most fans did not like Broderick either though (although I did). I wasn't watching when Klein was headwriter, so I can't comment directly on that. Anyway she is not going to be a headwriter so it doesn't matter that much.

I would blame MADD for a lot of that era, as I don't believe she got anything about ATWT, as ATWT was not an ABC soap, whether she wanted it to be or not.

At the time Klein was criticized for slow stories, stories that were kind of ridiculous (like Molly's obsession with Holden), the trite racism plot with Ben Harris, etc.

Erica to Kendall:

Sigh. I loved their relationship (with both SMG and AM) soooo much. It's really my favorite soap story ever. On what other soap would they have their main female hate their own child that seriously for that long? It was more complex than hate but IJS.

SMG ain't going to do an internet soap. I don't think AM is eager to do a character long-term after the ten year run at AMC - possible due to the fact Kendall became so not fun those last few years. It probably wasn't fun for her to do the role either. I do hope AM comes back eventually. When Kendall comes back hopefully she's written a lot more like McTavish's version. Hopefully a lot of the character's are written much better than they were on AMC those last 5-10 years. Also hopefully there will be less balance issues.

My sister is on the same sick schedule as you and I was actually going to go see her and the kids this weekend (despite my flu season feelings) but not going to happen anymore. They know I don't like germs. So sad, too bad.

Go to sleep before 3 in the morning if you're sick, too. You'll feel better faster. I don't understand how you function on the sleep you get but this is very pot, kettle of me to say as I post at 2:30 A.M.
