HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I thought DG had both sides of Kevin down. He was a decent, vulnerable man who projected a cool, collected, perfect front, was obsessed with being the alpha heir, but inside he was roiling with insecurity, vices and deep flaws in a noble brow. He had it all and was brought low by his and Kelly's own ethos of self-obsession and delusion. And then they rebuilt their love - for a little while, anyway. By the end of his run I actually wanted him and Blair together for real - they'd forged a healthy sort of friendship.

+1.

Stickney came back for an episode even after being badly burned. Purdee did too. I could see them both coming back if they were given direct promises, promises they might be able to believe since ABC won't be around.

They and their characters both got screwed in those returns. RJ was used for a couple of days to prop TnT while Hank disappeared into the Buchanan mansion. It was shameful and disgusting.

If there's one minority actor I think PP should pursue, I think it's Tim Stickney. We know Dorian/RS is already a part of the show and she was amazing with RJ/TDS. I think we can also assume that KDP will be involved and TDS worked well with her. Bring back Rachel with him and I think there's some good stuff there.

It'd be sweet revenge if PP brought back TDS for OLTL 2.0 and SBH and Thom Racina made him the male with the highest profile on the show.

That would be one of the only things that could ever bring me back to any version of OLTL.

Is "JA" Jack Armstrong? Because, if so, there's only one thing that man is good for:

WOw I don't even remember Jack Armstrong as Kevin--and I watched religiously during that period. He was also a brief Greg recast on AMC wasn't he?

I do remember how model vapid his successor was (who must have lasted like a month) Ken Kenitzer. This page has a fun list of the various Kevins--though some may disagree with the takes on the characters

Yep.

He was mostly supporting, there to react to Viki seeming off. He had a backburner relationship with deadly dull Andie.

I mostly remember the suspenders. And then the ass.

Actually I think that site's "recast/contrast" piece is interesting for every character. I'm glad someone out there agrees with me that Dan Jeffcoat was fairly appealing as Joey but stuck with awful material (and at a very shaky time for the show). http://llanviewlabyrinth.webs.com/recastcontrasts/

Sounds vaguely familiar ;)

I admit I actually liked Gibbs as an *actor* (I don't think that's really a popular opinion, but)--it was just how dark JFP made the character that seemed all wrong (and yes I give full "credit" to JFP and not the writers for this change in direction). I remember long stints of him glooming around town drunk.

I liked Jeffcoat. I wasn't thrilled with him at first but he did a really wonderful, intense scene with Gina T's Kelly that won me over.

Frankly, at this point, I don't envy ANY actor who might end up playing Joey or Kevin.

By the time his Joey came in there was no room for good guys on OLTL. It was all !@#$%^&*] all the time. That's one of the reasons we got "edgy" Kevin.

I loved Vimal and Rama, if they are looking at the characters in place when the show ended I hope they ask them to be apart of it. But I doubt it....

He looks like he's lost weight. His last stint was as the announcer on GH right?
