EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I actually liked the porn story. It was a first for daytime and hot. I always believed that the porn industry could do a soap and still include the nudity, but tastefully. Now I'm not talking daytime daily serial. Just a soap opera.

Thanks Errol By lame I meant more specifically the whole concept of taking a mirror photo (I'll pretend I meant it ironically). BTW I didn't clue in that that photo in your avatar was of you--until I saw the trailer for that upcoming docu about soaps with you in it--looking good.

But we're gonna have todisagree about the porn story. I dunno, was it a first? I swear there has been a porn story on some soap in the 80s (and not just Liza showing Jenny's porn movie in school which... OLTL totally ripped off ). My prob was I wasn't sure if we were meant to feel sorry for them having to make a porn movie, laugh, be turned on (IMHO it wasn't remotely hot) or what. It just felt like a mess to me.

I LOVED Dan Gauthier, the only good Kevin. I would love to see him back alongside Tom Degnan as Joey. I LOVED him on ATWT and also on OLTL. He also looks like Nathan Fillion which helped as well. I think he got a bad rap because the storyline wasn't good and was so unfavorable to Joey, but he is a good actor and he fit the role. He didn't get enough time. Along with those two I'd be very pleased with Erin Torpey as Jessica and Melissa Archer as Natalie. They could collectively be a force in Llanview. When it comes to Kelly, I know she'd be needed with Kevin, but I'd recast the role. Heather Tom is the only one capable of playing Kelly now. She reinvented Kelly and brought her into adulthood. Gina Tognoni seemed so miscast when she returned and was very dull. I didn't see her having chemistry with anyone. It was an odd fit. Kinda like if Brenda Dickson returned as Jill. The role has outgrown her.

I also would love to see Vimal and Rama back. It's unique to have a Middle Eastern family on soaps and they were good characters. I have a strong desire to see new families on these shows and that would be a good step. We don't need another white family. I'd prefer they bring this family back and try to build a Black family as well. At least we know AMC will start off with some diversity with the Hubbard's, but OLTL struggled here (much like Carlivati's GH).

I don`t really blame Gina for Kelly the last time around--the show seemed utterly clueless what to do with her.

To me he was the only Kevin who truly combined all aspects of the character. Gauthier's Kevin was also very good but was a little too slick for me.

I think Gina sucked as Kelly from her first day to her last. There was no "role" to outgrow, as far as I could see. She was a pointless cipher who dragged everyone down. Heather Tom just benefited from a different take and far more talent.

This might be unpopular, but I really enjoyed Tracy Melchoir as Kelly as well. I wonder if she wanted to choke out Heather Tom when she returned to B&B recently. I don't think there was anything wrong with Melchoir, but she was thrown under the bus when they got a more famous actor. I wouldn't mind her as Kelly either.
