December 4, 201213 yr Member Unless Lifetime do another Desi and Lucy biopic (with Lindsay Lohan as Lucille Ball). Yep. MB is smart. He saw how quickly GH moved on after Burton left so he's going to keep his head down and play nice. I think he "got" early on that changes had to be made after the old regime went. This is also the best Sonny has been written in ages. MB seems more awake in his scenes for sure. I guess Amanda Bynes is right about Lindsay getting first dibs, huh? I can't speak on how Ron's been writing Sonny as of late (as I haven't seen him since he tried to talk sh!t to AJ while the latter was behind bars and I was far too busy laughing at that stepstool trying to put the fear of Jesus into AJ to pay attention), but I absolutely agree with you about MB knowing which side his bread is buttered. Plus, I get the feeling that he's mellowed considerably since his divo-stunt-pulling days and is A-OK with his steady job (since opportunities outside this show are even less likely than they were when he left the show 15 years ago to try [and fail] to hit it big).

I also think he saw how ratings soared when Burton was gone, and the OG of former characters/actors returned which led to the ratings increase and had to know he was expendable
December 4, 201213 yr Member Quite a fall from the days when he used to dictate the direction of his co-star's storylines, huh? December 4, 201213 yr Member Question for old-school Lucy fans: was the Starpoint song, Object Of My Desire, the original song that was playing during Lucy's infamous transformation scene or was it later added in (either by whichever YTer uploaded the clip or someone else)? I was never sure about that.

December 5, 201213 yr Member Everyone seems to have despised the Laurelton storyline - I remember reading screeds about it in the soap mags even ten years ago - but on paper it sure reads like it was fun to watch. I might have to hit that YT playlist.

Thank you, Adelaide, for confirming my music question and sharing that clip on YT, as it was such a treat to see how Lucy was before I met her in the 90s. I'm not sure if bootleg Janet Wood was music director back then, but if so, I'll commend her on picking a great song for that scene.
