Members rhinohide
I will be very surprised if these numbers hold up. We'd be seeing a press release and Frank and Ron would be crowing.
Administrator Toups Posted September 21, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted September 21, 2012 Marc Berman needs to stop posting the 56-metered markets ratings. Why? Because they don't matter and they don't foreshadow the weekly ratings at all - that hoopla about GH's 56-metered markets ratings was all for nothing. Members OLTL_fan
At least the audience followed GH to its new timeslot.
Members frequentsoapfan
Which is what I said earlier this week on another board and kept being told how amazing GH supposedly did. I kept asking if those ratings were from all the markets and got no answers.
Administrator Toups Posted September 21, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted September 21, 2012 Yeah, that's the good news. If the stupid metered market ratings weren't release and got all that hoopla, I would've been satisfied with these small drops. My expectations soared because of those MM ratings. Now I know better to not trust them. I think that's because nobody knew because never see the MM ratings for soaps.
Members KSlater
The saying "don't believe the hype" applies here. I enjoyed GH last week a lot, but when I saw those numbers reported by Marc Berman, I thought it was pure BS.
Members Gray Bunny
Wow. What a bummer for GH after all that hoopla. Well, to put a positive spin on things, at least their time change didn't cause a huge freefall in the ratings, as has historically happened in the past for soaps when they were bumped up an hour (i.e. Ryan's Hope, Loving, etc.)
Members frequentsoapfan
Just wait until next week especially after the crap that was on today.
Members electrorat
Days would improve immensely if they'd permanently kill off EJ and put Sami in a coma for a few months. GH is a far better show than Days and I've watched both for over 3 decades. I can barely tolerate Days anymore, but don't miss an episode of GH. Members marceline
Oh I know this sound! It's the sound of soap fans coming back down to Earth. Anyway... I notice that B&B is up a half million total viewers over last year. But for some reason, their real ratings don't warrant the celebration and frantic fapping we saw over GH's fake ones. Members Gray Bunny
Whatever B&B's doing, it's working. I wasn't watching last year, but for some reason I am this year. Maybe it's because there's only 4 left and quite honestly it's the only solid soap currently. GH and DAYS have ups and downs, and Y&R is a hot ass mess. But as has been discussed in other threads, the fan enthusiasm just isn't there for B&B. It's an international success, but in the U.S. it's the overlooked soap that's done so well mostly because of its Y&R lead-in.
Administrator Toups Posted September 21, 2012 Author Administrator Share Posted September 21, 2012 It's called Steffy/Liam/Hope. Onliners might hate this triangle (I don't, I love it), but it's clearly working for offliners/nielsen viewers. Brad Bell even admitted to it and that's why they're constantly on. Members frequentsoapfan
B&B has like no online support in the US. I would support it if their main story Liam/Hope/Steffy wasn't so annoying.

Members ChitHappens
Help me out here...nothing about those GH numbers says 2.5 for any individual day last week. Can someone explain who lied?
