Best Soap Crazy's

I have always been a big fan of crazy people and I firmly believe that Soaps do the best job at creating Crazy people. This is probably why I love Crazy's.

Anyway, my favorites will be:

Janet (AMC)

Billy Clyde (AMC)

Allison (OLTL)

Mitch (OLTL)

Speaking as a Southerner with crazy on both sides, bless your heart for posting Julia Sugarbaker! And yes, I agree, Billy Clyde and Kate Collins' Janet from Another Planet were two of my favorite crazies!

I know Carl will agree with me on OLTL's Maria!

Capitol's Paula Denning (she kept her clueless ex-husband hostage in her basement which she had tricked out like a fake hospital complete with elevator door bings and nurses calling for doctors over the P.A.).

Oh, and judging from another thread.... I'd also like to add Brenda Dickson.

I will, too. ;)

Poor Maria Roberts. There really had been love between her and Clint "once upon a time." Unfortunately, time and distance were their enemies; and Maria just could not accept that.

DC's death still hurts my heart. I never caught GCB but I saw Annie Potts on The View one morning and she said she took sort of a "What Would Dixie Do?" approach to her character. Let's not get started on Bernice and her Christmas tree skirt!

Too bad we cannot do a "Best SON Crazies" thread. Lives would be destroyed, yes; but it would be oh-so-fun to read in the meantime. ;)

Julia's comments on the South are one of the few things from Designing Women which hasn't horribly dated, and which always seems true, especially in a media culture which always struggles to break away from the idea of the South being nothing but drunken inbred gun-toting mouthbreathers. The DW moments which were so obviously written from the heart are one of the few reasons I can really sit through the show.
