Y&R: MAB OUT! Hamner OUT! JFP IN! Griffith IN! Sheffer UNKNOWN!

I can't put into words just how tasteless I find it that she pimps out what was an onset moment, a private goodbye, to continue this PR campaign making herself the most put upon pashmina princess in daytime.

I also find it very telling that she does not mention Jill in that first goodbye message of characters she will miss. She was out for Jill from early on.

She should've just kept quiet. Only a woman who's everything that's leaked about her (bored, absentee socialite, not entirely supported by the Bells though they won't say so publicly, etc.) would come out with that statement given everything that's gone down at that show. Maria doesn't need the money or the airtime, she should've just left.

The Bells were very foolish to expect her to be able to handle being their conduit to the show. If it's true they had thought Josh Griffith would keep her in line when she first came on, they should've taken control of the situation when she ousted him. Griffith was not exactly genius in his second tenure at OLTL either in 2003-2004, but he is a talented writer with decades in the business. Now they've apparently totally lost control. This did not have to happen.

Eric Braeden is not a fan of Sony given that they played hardball during his last contract negotiations and are probably doing the same this time around. He knows he's lost a Bell protector.

Time to call Moonves about that golf game, Eric.

Eric Braeden has been in this business so long he can't be totally myopic. If he's sad I choose to believe it's because he knows that with every last Bell out he is totally exposed to Sony, not because he thought all this [!@#$%^&*] was genius - no matter what he says to her face.

Of course MAB never liked the character of Jill. She made her sons both losers, made her absentee in her loser son's life while catering to fake son Cane, gave her stories to Gen to first chance she got, and put little energy into writing Jill off.

LOL, exactly.

And that pesky contract is up soon...

Braeden reminds me of Tony Geary, as in he does seem like someone who loved what MAB wrote given that Geary had his lips firmly planted to Guza's ass

Totally agreed, from the beginning she always had a strange contempt for the Jill character.

Jill is the older character-type that JFP would like and would love to live vicariously though. I hope it happens.

I don't think Braeden loved most of her writing. He may have liked some of the early stuff but he began trashing the writing in mid-2009.

I think Brad Bell, in some assumed malicious way, always wanted Y&R to crumble to this point if it inadvertently meant B&B would benefit.

I don't think this is fair to Brad. Y&R was his dad's signature legacy. It must be extremely painful to know that the Bell family has no real input to this anymore. All

of Bill's proteges are gone now, with little hope of coming back. I don't think in any universe Brad would want that. Also, if the show does poorly under JFP and JG,

it becomes a liability to B&B as a strong lead-in. A weak Y&R hurts B&B, or at the very least, doesn't help.

I think Braeden liked a Bell being in control of the show, since it was a Bell who created his character and brought it to greatness. I also think the Bells have been very gracious and fair with Eric, something Sony and its negotiators weren't (at least, according to Braeden).

Cat, the Thanksgiving comment is too much!

LOL

Lee: Everybody here? That's wonderful. Juanita, please go get the turkey. Everyone, please take your seats. I will say grace. 'Rub-a-dub-dub. Thanks for the grub. Yay God.'

Bill Jr.: Mmmmmmm. This looks delicious, mom! I'm starved! Pass the sweet potatoes.

MAB: So, Brad!

Brad: Yeah?

MAB: How are things over at B&B?

Brad: Great.

MAB: You looking for somebody to help you out with all that head-writing you've been doing? MOCA isn't planning any more fundraisers until next April! (sing-songy) I might know somebody who could wri-ite.

Brad: Trent Jones wants to get back in the soap game?

MAB: No, silly! Me!

Lee: mellow.png

Brad: huh.png

Lauralee: blink.png

Bill, Jr.: whistling.jpg

Brad: That's kind of you to offer --

MAB: (interrupting) Need I remind you, I won an Emmy last year for Y&R --

Brad: ...but --

MAB: Eric calls me all the time to ask when I'm coming back. He says Jill is a gigantic bitch and Steve Kent won't return his calls --

Brad: ... uhhh --

MAB: Can you believe they recast Victor with Mo Benard?

Brad: I don't need a lot of help these days, to be honest. I just dust off the 1994-5 scripts, cross out "Brooke", "Ridge" and "Taylor" and write in "Steffy", "Liam' and "Hope."

[LONG PAUSE]

MAB: (fighting tears) Excuse me... I need to... fix my make-uh-uh-uh (runs off crying)

Bill, Jr: (glugs his wine, slips turkey drumstick into napkin and pockets it) Uh, mom. We're going to go. Maria's not... feeling up to it today.

Jamey_Giddens@Jamey_Giddens

Billy Jr., please get your wife off the Facebook, before she embarrasses the Bell name further.

He's on a roll LOL

Jamey_Giddens@Jamey_Giddens

I guaran-damn-tee you if Sharon Case cried, they were tears of JOY!

Jamey_Giddens@Jamey_Giddens

Sure Eric Braeden cried. His ass knows Sony is done putting up with his shenanigans!

Do you think there's any truth to what Jamey Tweeted about Lauralee and Brad having a role in Maria's ousting?
