Liason sadly makes sense in context of the show right now. But it's not really much of a constellation prize at this point - I mean, is it? Liz is in shambles as a character and Jason is the epitome of a douchebag for blaming Sam for being raped.

I thought Jason was bad before but he's only gotten worse with his reaction to this rape story and not helping Sam. Between the story being horrible in general, further ruining characters is only making it worse.

Sam works so much better away from jason and Jason is at his most tolerable with Liz. However, i doubt it is going to happen.

Sami and Ej coming together for him to be reavealed to be behind setting John up is good drama, the added twist of his being Johns son could also be interesting.

I'd say more of a booby prize than a consolation prize considering Sam is like 7 months pregnant.
