DAYS: Despite the flack DAYS gets in the acting department, I honestly think its the only one left where I feel 98 % of the cast is actually committed and trying and not just there for the paycheck.

My soaps are all long gone, but...

I am glad Tony Geary seems to have returned to a more restrained acting style and interacts with his scene partners.

After months of not caring about GH, I have tuned in again thanks to Frank Valentini's and Ron Carlivati's brilliant decision to bring two of my favorite soap characters, Todd and Blair. I thank them for providing us fans with a another chance to see Todd Manning and Blair Cramer.

OLTL: Even though I think her brief return could have been handled better, I do appreciate the fact that we got to see Gabrielle again, and that she shoved it in Luna's face that Max had been her husband at one point (in so many words, anyway).

GH: I love that Johnny refused to sleep with a mentally ill woman.

B&B: Is at least still consistently mildly entertaining.

Days: Glad Lucas is back and Sami/Lucas/Kate are still gold. But other than that. Meh.

GH: Cant.

YR: Cant.

Agreed. Even though the production and story pacing and overall writing leave much to be desired, the actors and people behind the scenes really seem to care about doing the best they can do, and staying on the air as long as possible.

B&B: Thank you for being unapologetic camp instead of pretending to reinvent the wheel whilst biting off superior prime time shows. Shows like yours (and the dearly departed) OLTL is why I count soaps as my guiltiest pleasure and I certainly wouldn't have it any other way.

AMC's finale, while far from flawless, remains an extremely satisfying hour of soap opera for me. And, in general, All My Children continues to be my favorite TV show of all time -- all time, yall</Kanye>

Based on Brad Bell's interviews, I'm not sure he agrees.

Are you referring to him stating that he wants to write for younger viewers? Because while it's definitely a problem, I don't think it's anywhere near the vicinity of one acting as if they are breaking any ground.

Just the general ponderousness of some of his interviews over the years. I do think he believes he's breaking new ground. Offensive or patronizing stories like Stephanie meeting the homeless, Beth's Alzheimer's, Betty White's mercy killing, Storm killing himself to give Katie a heart, and going back, nonsense like Rick shooting Grant because of "violent video games." This all smacks of desperate attempts at relevance, and Emmy bait. The cheapness of the times they do attempt camp give the impression to me that they're a little ashamed of them.

Based on the lack of response I think it's difficult for many. I was mostly just discussing with VirginiaHamilton as I'd already given my positive comment, but sorry for taking away from your thread. Here's another one for you:

I think Kassie de Paiva did a great job in her GH material and the scenes where she broke down in Todd's arms were wonderfully done
