Guza did this a [!@#$%^&*] ton as well. Guza didn't give a damn about characters either. Look at what he did to Maxie, Ric, Lucky, Emily, Luke, Sam, Zander, AJ, and others. All of whom were sacrificed for the altars of Sonny, Jason, Elizabeth and Carly.

I'm no Liz fan, but I'd hardly put her in the same category of the Trifecta of Suck. Matter of fact, she's one of the biggest victims of Guza's shitastic writing, as he forced what was once a dynamic young character to be destroyed to prop up that roided goiter of a hitman.

Most of the people here have been trashing GH for a long time. Hell, I've been trashing the show since Clinton was in office. I think the problem is when some fans and boards go on about it's a miracle, "Cartini" have saved GH, it's so incredible, those Cartini touches! and so on.

Liz benefited in a way similar to that of Courtney, she was Jason's side-side ho and she benefited from that and to this day still somewhat does because she is Jason's Madonna figure who birthed his wailing off spring. Once that happened she was deified along with the rest of them.

I don't care about GH, it has been a complete mess for years now. I am not for or against the idea that Cartini has made GH a better show (that would be impossible), although I do defend him against a lot of these criticisms because I feel that they don't seem to understand the damage that other writers have done to this show and how it still impacts the quality of the show to this day. Cartini is getting negative responses for things he didn't even perpetuate and things that came before him and that's the idea I take issue with. Where was all this ire when Guza was penning things awfully? There seems to be so much more animosity over Cartini when it was Guza who destroyed the very thing that made GH what it was.

Really? Because all I've been reading online over the past two months (hell, I'll even go as far as to say even before they officially joined the show) is how "Cartini's ruining the show/the legacy of GH", which is the complete opposite of the truth - that GH/GH's legacy is already dead - something that Guza/JFP/Frons set in motion and succeeded at.

I don't even have a problem with some viewers' distaste for Cartini's style of soap, as we like what we like. My problem (which I've made crystal clear many times) is that folks want to act as if the show was a sterling example of serial drama until they huffed and puffed until the house fell down, which is pure horeshit.

Again show me the posts or accolades for GH prior to Ron joining because I'd love to see it. No offense but you keep making stmts that no one on this board has said or claimed about GH under Wolfe or Guza. It's like folks are not allowed to wish for better. No wonder these shows are all dead.

Folks can wish for better all they'd like. They just need to be consistent instead of making false statements to justify their biases.

There is nothing derailing this thread. It's a controversial topic that could also be an unpopular one... Thoughts like these just tend to imply that posters can't disagree with each other or express different views from the norm and it reads a lot like if you don't agree with the consensus just shut up which is just ridiculous quite honestly. This is a discussion board - about soaps, I would imagine occasionally that disagreements and debate would arise. When conversation stops the forum dies.
