February 21, 201214 yr Member Hot new rumor posed by Silas Kain on his blog talk show yesterdsay so take with GOS: ABC is so upset with the revolution ratings & so are the affiliates that ABC is seriously considering giving 2pm slot where the revolution currently airs in the eastern time zone back to the affiliates so that would take ABC out of having to program that hour. Another rumor is that ABC/Time Square Studios has other shows in development to replace Revolution. Either way does not look good for the future of GH Edited February 21, 201214 yr by John
February 21, 201214 yr Member The idea from some has been that if The Revolution fails that means they will move GH to that timeslot. This would suggest otherwise.
February 21, 201214 yr Author Member ABC already gave the 3pm EST slot to the afiliates and over 90% have chosen to air Katie so GH cant air at 3pm. If ABC gives back the 2pm slot as well, that means affiliates can put any syndicated show in that slot. GH is not a syndicated show so it wont be able to have that slot. Plus the Chew is being successful enough at 1pm and probably will see a second season. So If this happens, GH is toast Edited February 21, 201214 yr by John
February 21, 201214 yr Member See I am not getting how The Revolution is any diff than other daytime network owned shows that didn't perform. Both Port Charles and Guiding Light were 2 shows that underperformed in later years allowing affiliates to move both shows to other timeslots and replace them with cheaper perhaps better performing programming. GL in fact in the Chicago and Milwaukee markets aired at 9:00AM for its final few years while Judge Judy went into its original afternoon timeslot.
February 21, 201214 yr Author Member Those are Network owned. Those Network affiliates have to air them regardless of timeslot. Syndicated shows dont have to air on a certain network they have to be bought by afffiliates Edited February 21, 201214 yr by John

Syndicated shows dont have to air on a certain network they have to be bought by afffiliates I guess my point was more to The Revolution. Its a network owned show allegedly is not performing. Why does ABC have to give the affiliates anything. If its not performing to expectations, the affilates can simply move it and air something else of their choice.
