OLTL: Discussion for the week January 2

Not just liberals. People love to call people who live in trailers 'trash'. It's such crap. I had to deal with that at school when I was a kid ALOT. Sure, there's a bunch of 'trash' out there. But, like I said. They don't just live in trailer parks. (and I can think of very little that live in mine anyways)

I'm sorry :( I hate how people treat each other

This was a fun show. Ty Treadway just never ages, he is in better shape and more handsome than guys 10 and 15 years younger. I don't know why he never found another acting gig.

LMAO alexisfan!

All of these inmates should be in a mental institution, not prison.

Finally watched--of course I have quibbles, but I admit I really enjoyed the episode. And yes Van is already a better Cole (and similar enough to BB that it's not jarring)--I only knew him from his work on Broadway in American Idiot, but liked him then and am impressed enough. Mitch is over the top as usual but, while we only saw him briefly, he seems more in keeping with how I prefer Mitch than the last go around or two. My one real gripe is what a lame ending "cliffhanger"--couldn't they have edited it to end on one of the inmates?

And yes, there's no real reason all of these people should be in jail together--and not institutionalized. Or why Cole is locked up beside psycho mass murderers... 8 left...

They mentioned the paternity of Jessica and Natalie. Something is SO getting changed with that.

I dunno, they do that every time Mitch is around... But...

I never knew Ty Treadway was such a great actor. I always just associated him with Soap Talk and never as an actual actor haha. He and HBS are great together.

He's VERY hit or miss but has his moments and works well with Nora (mostly). I realized I can't even remember all the details about Troy's last run. I know he went to jail after the poison wine Nora thing, and then broke out just when the Music Box Killer was happening again (and I want to say kidnapped Nora again but I'm probably just thinking of the hundreds of time he or Colin did in the past) and was sent back to prison around the time we found that that professor was the killer (in a lame ending)?

what exactly does Troy see in Nora?

LOL to be fair psychotic obsessions are barely based on rational things :P

Isn't that the one Lindsay made for Bo and Nora when they got re-married? Remember that she made a personalized license plate at Statesville and had it sent to them.

LOL My tv was too dark to notice anything...

It was, I think, perhaps a bridge too far to go with the character by having him have Nora abducted by Eddie Ford, but realistically and pragmatically, soaps make these mistakes with established characters all the time. They had Viki-as-Niki taking Jessica to bars to get molested - neither Viki nor Niki would ever do that. They had Nora sleep with Sam to make Matthew. They had Dorian ransom David's marriage to Addie to save Viki's life - bullshit, as was the whole thing where she had Rex injected with heroin. They had Victor/Todd re-rape Marty and steal Hope, which I certainly never thought he would do. Mistakes are made. And Clint's, while bad, was admittedly a mistake but no patch on some of the other stuff I've seen or even what they made Asa do in his later years. Clint regrets it.

I was going to disagree re Clint, but I get your point and its true (though nearly all of those stories--I don't even remember Rex and heroin--are some of my most hated). I think the problem is RC particularly has a hard time redeeming characters--he seems to think they've been redeemed before the audience does, though I've warmed to Clint again so, meh I dunno.

It does kinda bug me that they care about Jessica being Mitch's father. Wasn't one of the messages of the show before that your family isn't always about blood, how Clint is regardless her fahter? I don't really need the "happy ending" added.

October 1, 2008 for that weird dream sequence of Rex's that also featured Lindsay and Jen, though I believe he was playing Colin

Oh was that the who's the daddy thing and he riffed on his game show host personality? Of course that went nowhere for years but...

" My demographic is trailer park people watching on 24-inch black-and-white screens with tinfoil on the antenna."

Holy [!@#$%^&*]. Did she really just say that? Excuse me. I live in a trailer park (an upscale retirement one with my mom. Jobless right now) and I have a 32 inch HDTV with satellite. Screw you Delaria.

Seriously. I hate Trailer Park jokes. Some people cannot get past trash in general. I've known plenty of trash and most of them live on horse farms around here.

That's Delaria's shtick. I get why people would find it offensive, and it's slightly meant to be, but... Trust me, she knows how many gay men (not to mention sophisticated audiences of any sexuality or gender) watch. Plus she makes the "joke" implying those audiences don't get she's a lesbian but she did play that lame lesbian storyline... It is funny though, a friend of mine who knows her from her live shows commented when he first saw her on OLTL that she never has looked so much like a woman before.

I wouldn't take it personally to anyone who lives in a trailer park, but it's lightly provoking humour (and not all that funny IMHO...)

It really did. I'm going to try my best to watch live every day this week and next as these threads are going to be a bear to wade through come evening, let alone if you miss a day!

LOL and this was exactly my problem tonight--I think much of what I said had already been answered...

I first saw Lea years ago on some lesbiand standup or female standup thing that used to run on HBO or Showtime. Then she was on OLTL. The last place I thought she'd be. Yet she's continued off and on. It's funny because someone I know, who is the last person who would know who Lea Delaria was, she watches OLTL sometimes, not all that often, but she rememers Delfina and when I told her Delfina had been on the show again she wanted to see it.

He's actually not in show business anymore, primarily. He and his wife Monica have a real estate business in the Dallas area now:

Man I wish we were doing daily threatds bc there's already 8 pages for one show. I cant even keep up with those comments. Anyways watching now and here are my thoughts

Natalie sees Mitch and first thing I thought was run bitch run! Instead she stands there and looks at him. Id have thrown that lit candle in his face and burned him. Good there goes Clint. I was wondering where he was considering he's on house arrest and cant leave. Did Clint have any scenes with him before? Love that he's involved in this plot

I like nuCole but thought Starr was way too much of a bitch to him. My goodness he couldnt even see and hold Hope?

Why does Troy still have to be obsessed with boring ass Nora?

What a beautiful photo. Now if only Megan would tell her to run, she doesn't need a man, especially not one with severe mental problems, and while she's at it, can she disown Jessica?

It will be great to see Megan/Viki together again one last time. I think this is the first time since 1992 isn't it? I think in 1999 and 2002 she was on her own or with Erin Torpey.

I love that photo you've been using.

I think someone said this weeks ago but Dani looks so much like Debi Mazar there.

SID info

Viki on cover of SID - Small pic of T&B, Jess/Ford, and Clint/Kim. Says - One couple gets a Happy Ending! One Beloved Character dies and in it's heartbreaking Finale, OLTL goes back to heaven.

Pic inside of Luna/Megan/Gabs all in white gowns, guess they are in heaven.
