Yeah, deep down Carly really does want to pork Johnny biggrin.png

If new kid TJ is just some bratty kid with a chip on his shoulder who acts like Bambi, then no thanks. I wanted Shawn to slap him LOL I'll be looking forward to seeing more of him, maybe he'll have scenes with Molly? I bet he'll be dropped like Dr. Terell, Lainey, Toussaint, etc though anyway...but Shawn is pretty nicely featured so maybe not.

I have to say Dante and Lulu have been pretty pleasant to watch lately, I'm always back & forth with them. Lulu is a dogwalker? rolleyes.giflaugh.png That's her passion? I don't think so. LOL at her getting allergic to the dog. One thing I find annoying - why is she always going to the PCPD to visit Dante? That does not seem normal to me at all, she really needs to get her own steady job...

I hope Johnny didn't shoot Sonny. The most obvious choice would be Jax. But damn, could it have been Michael as well?

Seriously. I'm wading back into the waters now, but only because I have a very high tolerance for bad/boring. I would have given any new writer a chance though. OLTL has nothing to do with it. I want to watch GH's last year, I simply couldn't do it under GW. After years of Guza, GW beat me into submission within months of taking over. I won't apologize for giving up on an unwatchable show or for coming back when I have some hope things will get better.

Also, from what KDP said, this is not any kind of merger. She's only going to be on a few episodes. Sounds like it's the same for RH, so I think the "OMG! OLTL is taking over GH" panic that hit Twitter completely overblown. Shocking.

Of all the characters to get a supporting character, Shawn, the deadest of dead wood, is the one who gets help? The actor just stands there like a dead tree. I have no idea how that actor got hired, he is the most unexpressive introverted actor ever. He recites his lines with as much exciteent and energy as the way I order chinese food for delivery.

I almost think it's a conspiracy. It's like the casting department couldn't possibly find a charismatic black actor for some reason, and yet they do exist, so how was this man hired? It defies all logic. It's like they are setting the black character up to fail. I'm white as snow, but it's really hard not to see it that way.

Then how do you explain THIS?

GOTMUMPHIS.png

GH's casting department hasn't been on its game this past year all around. Conspiracy: DEBUNKED!

Seriously, though, being black myself, I don't see it as a conspiracy to set the character up to fail. I see it as Blakemore fit the "type" that they were originally going for with the Shawn character -- the black version of Jason. The psychologically damaged, emotionless enforcer for a dastardly crime lord. Somewhere along the way, they decided to keep Blakemore and tried to revamp the Shawn character into a more compassionate and softer character. I don't think they would do that if their intent was to set it up to fail. Epiphany? Yes. Terrell? Yes. The driver of the Magic School Bus? HELL YES!

^ I wasn't being entirely serious. I don't actually believe that shows hire people and want them to fail, but damn. Your idea that he wasn't actually meant to be a long term character at first, makes sense to me. Once they decided to keep him and put him with Carly things went bad.

    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
    • I thought I had stopped & then I saw this post from you. To be clear I said I was wrong. I have not made an attempt at any backpedaling. There is literally no place to back pedal to. I did 3 things. I deleted. i apologized. I said I was wrong, egregiously so.
    • I think bringing Dano back to OLTL as her original character Gretel/Rae was a last minute thing because P & G wouldn't let ABC use the Felicia character. So even though she had ties to OLTL from back in the day, she just didn't fit into the OLTL of the late 90s/early 00s.. nor did she really fit into the other soaps at ABC either.
    • I don't think they were the biggest factor, but I do think there's a specific style to Dano's work that wasn't helped by how pointless her character often felt (and later on the various writers clearly saw the character as a joke).
    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
