I ordered my Reva DVD. I like the 5 episode format, I think it lends itself well for further releases if a particular set is successful. I also wouldn't mind 20 episode sets focusing on four different couples or characters. Maybe a full set of heros/villains with two discs focusing on a hero and two on a villain and a vixen. Or for Valentines Day yall could've done a couples disc.

A good starter couples DVD for GL could feature Roger/Holly, Maureen/Ed, Michelle/Danny, Reva/Josh, Blake/Ross, Gus/Harley or Otalia. Lots of different couples yall could get five episodes out of, or maybe just a set with a collection of romantic episodes.

Any chance of a coupon code for those of us that already bought the 20 episodes? Really excited for another release but I wish I had waited to take advantage of the great combo pricing-- I'm a poor grad student but I miss my soaps and really want another GL disc.

Also, I just watched the Annie wedding episode last night- I started watching right after her run and always remember reading about her in the mags. Loved this character- its so much fun to discover new favorites. It was also amazing to see JE as Beth- she seemed like an entirely different character. Eagerly awaiting a JL Michelle episode and more Phillip/Beth!

I believe the SoapClassics online episode is from 2/14/84. I LOVE the great ensemble acting/production values, the introduction of Alex, plus Lujack first romancing Beth! smile.png

Roger, does the 7/31/84 Reva DVD episode also continue the psychotic Darcy kidnapping Lujack saga?

I received the first DVD set on Friday, and I've been in vintage GL heaven ever since! smile.png All I can say is give me MORE Lujack, Nick, and Roger!

David, based on episode #s you may be right. Does anyone know if there were any pre-emptions between Friday, Dec. 23 and February? Did the show air on Jan. 2 that year?

The 7/31 episode continues the episode on the previous disc. Reva is still at the fountain and Lujack saga continues.

While having a Reva collection DVD was bound to happen... I feel that with it coming on the heels of the debut set, that perhaps the Reva esque episodes shouldn't have been on the first set (i.e the Slut of Springfield episode, the wedding episode, or the 15000 episode one) and put toward the Reva set instead... Those three slots could have been filled with other landmark episodes (i.e. the Roger reveal at Phillip/Blake's aborted wedding, Beth being revealed as alive circa 1989, or even Phillip/Beth's first wedding in 1991) not involving Reva.

I'm glad they're doing another one so quickly. I hope that's a sign of things to come. I have to say I'm not a big fan of Reva or (what I've seen of) that era of the show at all, and I won't be buying this DVD. But I can honestly say that I sincerely hope (no, believe) that there is enough fan interest to make this one a success, and that as a result there will be future releases.

My DVDs showed up last night! There goes my free time for the week. tongue.png I don't know GL's history as well as I do others -- Days has always been "my" show, and I know ATWT pretty well -- but I watched it here and there from 1997 until the end, and I have the history book and have read a ton on these boards. So I might have a ton of questions, but this is exciting! I'm starting with the "In Pursuit of Roger Thorpe" episode, and two observations already: a) This is so atmospheric! B) I hadn't seen Christopher Bernau in action til now. I totally get it.
