I think the reason why Blake was blonde when originally cast was because she was supposed to look like Beth and remind Phillip of Beth, which he did mistake her for a few times lol.

I LOVED Bridget, and Bridget and Dylan as a couple!

I don't know how true the story is of Kobe firing Millette Alexander. I seem to recall -- and I've seen this reported elsewhere online -- that Sara was written out in December 1982. Kobe didn't join GL until around February 1983. I've seen closing credits from early 1983 and Alexander's name is already missing from the closing credits.

Geraldine Court may have been the first to be fired, though I'm not certain. The firings picked up steam around May/June when Leslie O'Hara, Jennifer Cooke, Phil MacGregor, Mark Pinter, Beulah Garrick, Giancarlo Esposito, and Janet Grey were dropped.

I think it was after the strike? I'm not sure.

You are probably right about Milette. It would make more sense if she were gone earlier as Berjer and Robert Milli well before her.

I don't really understand why they fired Quint's housekeeper. It just made him seem more bland.

Thanks for keeping us updated! I've never seen the full episode of most of the 80's and 1990 (well I did with the 1990 but that was 20+ years ago). I guess GL was seriously in transition in that 1983 episode.

Great choice of classic episode. Remember when we could take all those gala balls and parties for granted.

GL had another bathroom encounter with Harley and Reva at the 60th anniversary ball. It was a blast.

Oh, no worries. This one was harder than picking five ATWT Christmas episodes. You could go with Amish Reva, Clone Reva, etc, etc. I sort of went for a Reva comes to town, falls for Josh, dies, comes back and ends up with Josh angle. But there are tons of episodes that would have been great. This one was completed at the end of last year so I'm a little fuzzy (bad memory in my old age) about all the things I screened at the time.

The soapclassics website calls her Reva Shane on the free episode page (and above the synopses), please tell someone to fix that.

I agree with what GrayBunny said about the something regarding that trial or after it in 1997 or the rooftop episode from before Annie went down the stairs. I would have used one of those instead of the 2006 episode, as after that they went with Josh/Cassie anyway.

I'm a completist so I am getting this, but I think I would have preferred getting a seasonal disc like the ATWT Christmas one for GL with Valentine's Day episodes. At least the freebie sates that. Though I wish the descriptions on the Soapclassics site would mention what stories are on that disc that aren't Reva related.

What is the exact date of the freebie? It doesn't say on the website (welovesoaps or soapclassics).

We need a Barbara and Lucinda one for ATWT and Roger/Holly, Alan, Alex dvd set like the Reva one. I wish it was 10 episodes though instead of just 5. I am glad the I am coming bud episode is included in the set. That is the episode I wanted to see again. I love anything 80s concerning GL and ATWT.
