The Variety article said PP still has the digital rights until sometime in 2012. What does that likely mean?

And yeah, getting around the unions is not going to help them snare the top talent on either show. If they are going to try that angle, they may as well start fresh.

Yeah she did, so that means they must have reverted back to ABC, which means they can do what they want with them

So ABC put them in storage? what about AMC? I thought PP owned the sets?

Maybe PP Put them in storage somewhere. PP has the online rights of AMC Til Sept 2012 and of OLTL Til Jan 2013 According to Variety

I'm wondering if PP getting the sets meant getting the studio too, and since that didn't happen, maybe PP didn't have the money for the sets either. Hard to tell. If PP had them in storage would ES know that? I can see her knowing that if ABC had them in storage, but PP not so much

How can PP circumvent the unions. These soaps are signatory to WGA, DGA & AFTRA. I dont see that changing anytime soon

Thats what the article in variety said. wasnt that why they looked at moving to Canada?

Canada has an actors union ACTRA Unless they plan to use ACTRA which could already have Internet Rates in their contracts. I do know ACTRA does have an agreement with AFTRA and SAG when their actors appeared in prods covered by ACTRA

The Variety article says that PP only has the online rights for a year after the last episode air. I thought originally we were told they got 10 year options, what gives or is my memory playing a trick on me?

  • Member

I think the 10 year thing kicks only if the shows go into production

Just saw NEW Prospect Park prospects MAY be ahead. I love their reassertion of proprietary ownership #AMC #OLTL. Territorial claim seems poz

why do I get the sinking feeling this story is being released just as ABC is ready to drop one more bomb

Seriously do these PP people have some hardon about not retooling these shows?

Jim

@johnwalterseip @LewisJJr Sounds like they want to get help to either pay unions or move the show to a non-union location
