Are you kidding. He's patting himself on the back in his latest interview in SOD on his 100th plan to Save Days and how

he was mislead in trusting Tomlin and Higley. I want to see Days rebound but somewhere inside me I would love to see Corday

again fall flat on his face

Wondering how ratings will be this week due to all the storm coverage in the east? I hope Y&R and B&B drop. As for the Days interview, Cordy ruined Days years ago and I will never really blame any of the writers. Sony and the network but in but Days is his show, the family business, and the blame game stops with him. He could have vetoed any storyline. Also, he loved these same writers last year when Days was doing well.

I hope DAYS/Corday succeed, but I'm not holding my breath. The big changes all seem to revolve around the cast, much like a while back when Louise Sorel and Crystal Chappell were returning. BIg returns is one thing; if you don't have the right story for them, the show isn't going to go anywhere. Unlike everyone else who seems thrilled with the Sept preview, I think it looks horrible. And that scene with Jack falling down in the cake in front of Jennifer - that was cute back in 1989 when Jack was in his 20's. Now, it's just kinda lame.

To whom is it significant that OLTL tied for #1 in a demo category again? During August alone, GH has been ABCD's #1 soap, drawing more viewers in the only place it has always counted - the key demo. We all know that ratings are irrelevant to the number crunchers. Now the 18-34 demo means something to them? huh.png

Well, they've been tying GH in the key demo, women 18-49, quite a bit lately, as well. And women 18-34 has historically been a demo in daytime that tells advertisers/TVexecs whether or not the audience is aging, and whether it's still attracting young people. When Frons announced The Chew and The Revolution, he specifically cited the "elusive women 18-34 demo" as who he was targeting with those shows. Yet OLTL and GH both outrate The Talk (and The View, recently) in that demo.

OLTL beat GH in Total Viewers, HH, Women 18-49 Viewers, and Women 18-34 Rating (#1 soap). Anyone know the last time OLTL was #2 in Women 18-49 Viewers and #1 in Women 18-34 Rating? Not at home, so I can't access my archive.

Toups, last time I have OLTL beating GH in 18-49 VIEWERS was when GH crashed to the low 600,000s the week of July 4-8, 2011.

2. OLTL 631,000 (-11,000, -88,000)

4. GH 614,000 (-29,000, -238,000)

The actual VIEWERS is what breaks those rating ties.

18-49 VIEWERS is what AD WEEK always focuses on in their articles. However, Carolyn is right the 18-34 demo is the most prized of all. NBC's old Thursday night lineup was often touted as being #1 with 18-34 as that got them higher ad rates.

Also, the years DAYS was dominating the #1 in 18-34 viewers, they were able to charge more for 30 second ads.

If OLTL is now beating the other soaps in 18-34 viewers, that is HUGE slap in the face to Frons.

Okay thanks. Since it's so recent, I won't mention it in the report. However, I think this could be the first time in a couple of years (or maybe first time ever?) OLTL is #1 in Women 18-34. Anyone know the weeks of Todd's execution and the Daniel Colson is gay reveal? Need to check to those weeks.

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
