She may also have meant when Guza left in late 1996.

One of the problems is that people so clearly wanted a bigger, flashier GH after Labine's tenure. Curlee wasn't that type of writer.

That's disappointing

Thanks DRW50 for posting the old articles. Daytime TV was right - Tristan Rogers would be the heir apparent for GH. And Lynn Herring's hair is so blond! I like her "real" color much better. tongue.png

Lynn always looks good. I'm glad she is still so recognizable today.

I have to laugh at the photographer likely saying, "BITE INTO THAT WATERMELON WITH MORE PASSION!! NOW!! NOW!!!!"

Gerald Gordon became the third actor to play Mark Dante. The previous Mark, Michael Delano, was only on for 3 eps.

Apparently, the Pollocks wanted Gordon for the role as they had written for him on The Doctors but he was playing hardball. When the show expanded to 45 mins they had to go ahead with the Mark character. When contract negotiations were settled Gordon stepped into the role.

Hey everyone! I’ve been a fan of GH since I was 8 years old and I was very excited to find this forum and especially this thread. I am going to give this a shot!

My best guess is that this photo of the cast is from 1968-69 due to the fact that Pat Breslin is still there as Meg Baldwin. Adding in that Kim Hamilton is there as Dr. Adams, that narrows down the time frame to when the shot could have been taken.

As for who is who, I am not sure of a couple of the faces but here goes:

From far left back row:
John Beradino (Dr. Steve Hardy)
Emily McLaughlin (Jessie Brewer, RN)
Peter Kilman (Dr. Henry Pinkham)
Jennifer Billingsley (Polly Prentice #2) - Best guess
Peter Hansen (Lee Baldwin)
Julie Adams (Denise Wilton) – Best guess
Martin West (Dr. Phil Brewer #something)
Ray Girardin (Howie Dawson)

Far left front row:
Rachel Ames (Audrey March Baldwin, RN)
Robin Blake (Student Nurse Judy Clampett)
Shelby Hiatt (Jane Harland Dawson, RN)
Kim Hamilton (Dr. Tracy Adams)
Sharon Debord (Student Nurse Sharon McGillis Pinkham)
Patricia Breslin (Meg Bentley Baldwin, RN)
Peggy McCay (Iris Fairchild)
Paul Savior (Dr. Tom Baldwin)

...and a random dog.

I look forward to posting here and learning more about the history of General Hospital!
