I first started watching soaps 2 years ago. I watched AMC, OLTL, and GH every day and tried to watch DOOL, ATWT, The Bold and the Beautiful (when Sarah Brown) joined. I also tried to watch The Young and the Restless sometimes. I found that AMC, OLTL, GH, and DOOL all had short scenes and lots of action. They were very suspenseful. The Young and the Restless seemed to have longer scenes. The scenes were not action- packed. They were characters conversating and sometimes arguing. I found this boring. I started paying attention to the ratings. Y&R was always first. B&B was always second. Then it was normally DOOL, GH, AMC, OLTL, and ATWT. OLTL and ATWT would sometimes switch places for last. I began to notice that AMC, GH, and DOOL started to get more like the Young and the Restless. There was less stuff like Carly shooting Melanie, Claudia trying to get pregnant by Dante, Annie defending herself in court. I started noticing these changes when AMC went HD. I know a lot of people embraced the new writer but I liked it a lot more before. The only soap that has stayed the same is OLTL. Its definitely gone back to its roots- so its changed in that regard. But it still has the spunk that I liked about it when I started watching. Once ATWT was cancelled, I expected OLTL to stay at the bottom of the ratings, but it soon surpassed AMC. Now it has also surpassed DOOL and GH. I feel that while the other soaps started to emulate the Young and the Restless, viewers didn't like it. Who ever thought OLTL would raise to #3? I know the 2 Todds is playing its part, but I feel that the other soaps changing their style did as well.

Well that is good. I dont think the porn story helped their cause. The only story getting them these numbers are the Two Todds. I am sure OLTL will be down next week with the preemptions and not being as good.

Happy for OLTL. Some of the this momentum will likely carry into next week's ratings. (If I understand this correctly, this is the week that ended with the DNA reveal. The result was revealed on Monday's show.) This week's ratings will likely dip some, but still should be fairly good.

These comparison just get more ridiculous. Monday's differences is utterly insane.

Wednesday: 329,000 more than AMC, 71,000 more than GH

Thursday: 429,000 more than AMC, 393,000 more than GH

Friday: 353,000 more than AMC, 441,00 more than GH

    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.

    • The counts seem small even for B&B. Thanks for posting!
    • Sooo Nick is inviting Sharon to France for this Dumas party thing. The same place they reconnected years ago during the Shick/Phick years. I wonder if it’s going to be on location? I’m going to assume not. I’m sure Y&R doesn’t have that kind of budget anymore.
    • Agree. The catfights at the clothing store alone...lol.   That's how I feel about Teresa as well. Cheryl I feel seems to blend much better with Sara's breakdowns, but I definitely love her dialogue no matter who she is with.  They also forget replies about missing plot points and theories about why they might be missing so...   YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS   Oh how that scene lives rent free in my head and when it pops up online I will always watch.
    • Episode #62 Thurs May 29 US, Dani arrived at the bar at closing time and used her Dupree name to request that the bartender serve her even though it was past closing time.  Then Doug walked in and Dani convinced the bartender to serve him too.  They were both drowning their sorrows, and the scene switched to Vanessa/Joey having sex on the card table. Then no followup.  Did Dani and Doug talk? Or... ? Where did Doug go? When the next episode started, it was the next day and Dani was meeting with Pamela, and Pamela arranged for some hot guy to date Dani, but Dani wasn't interested.
