Members remos
Suzane and John have "specifically" said they were both taken aback by the pairing and if credit needs to go anywhere it's Peggy McKay for having a hissy fit in front of TPTB about the chemistry between Victor/Maggie, and then TPTB took a second look. Members Shawn
If I'm misinformed, I apologize. I was under the assumption that they were the ones who encouraged the storyline. Perhaps it was just wishful thinking by a poster on one of the boards I frequent that I mistook for fact. Nevertheless, I give Dena credit for nothing really. She created the worst family on Days in quite some time in the form of the Hernandez. They killed one, they fired another...two more to go and we can be rid of them and their overexposure. Members JackPeyton
Oh, its no problem i was just curious if i somehow missed an interview with them. yeah, they both have said many times how surprised they were because they never got to work together much and how random it was. And Corday has said he saw the chem between them during the melanie/philip storyline when they would have scenes together and then after mickey died when Victor talked to her at the wedding. I agree the hernandez clan sucks as a whole, but honestly ill take Rafe over EJ anyday. And overexposed? Aside from the 2 rafes storyline, that was again all about EJ, id say they have been a solid supporting to minor players on the show. Rafe i think we are stuck with, and I actually like gabi but shes a bore, we could lose her and i wouldnt care at all. I forgot all about PMK's hissy fit. LOL. Members Shawn
I suppose you're right. Perhaps since the Rafe/Rafe 2 storyline was so painful, it seemed like an eternity when he was onscreen. I can see Gabi being written out when Will finally comes out. She's his beard, like Jade was Luke's on ATWT. Once her usefulness (or lack thereof, really) is gone, she will be sent packing. One can only hope. What happened with Peggy's hissy fit? When was this? Members remos
LOL, okay… but let me be upfront and say I have NEVER been a fan of PM or Ma Brady…. ever. Way back when Philip and Melanie got married, there's a scene where Maggie had to leave to take a moment because she was overwhelmed by her emotions surrounding weddings and Mickey's death. Victor noticed and went to her to see if she was alright. That's it. The total scene was maybe 15-30 seconds long. Well fans started to pay attention, but no one responded like Peggy McKay, who by Ken Corday's own description had her barging into the offices of TPTB demanding to know when they decided Victor was going to Maggie since PM was complete convinced Caroline should always have dibs on him (again, my paraphrasing of Ken's interview). Up until that time no one had noticed the chemistry between Victor and Maggie, but if PM was going to explode about it then they should take a second look. And voila….. MAGIC! Members Shawn
LMAO! That is hysterical. I do remember that scene. You're right, it was a blink and you miss it moment. I understand a little jealousy when it comes to people getting more screentime than you, but that's beyond ridiculous. I thought PM was better than that. I do find it funny, though, that everyone spends their day at the Pub, but Caroline is eternally washing dishes in back, not seen.

Members Antoyne
Daniel and Jen is all kinds of yuck and one of the most chemistry-less forced couples I've seen in quite some time.. The thing about Matthew Ashford is that he's a very talented actor and is quite capable of doing drama, it's just that DAYS writers in recent years refuse to write him as serious at all. The only time I enjoyed Caroline was when she was bat [!@#$%^&*] crazy and changing DNA tests.
Members All My Shadows
John, Marlena, and Jack were all on the show in 2005-2006 and it still sucked. Austin and Carrie came back shortly after and it still sucked. I'm interested in seeing what the new writers can do because I know a JER show is pretty unique and polarizing, but still...this show is totally at its worst when it's filled to the brim with black-and-white "good versus evil," and J&M/Jack fit right into that formula. I'm hopeful because I'm gonna need another soap to at least hold me over until this AMC drama figures itself out and gets on track.
Members Shawn
I try to forget that 2005-2006 ever happened on Days. I was relieved that they wrote Austin and Carrie off at the time because the writing was just so horrid. You're right about the black and white, good vs evil though. I prefer characters in the gray, with flaws, capable of going one way or the other depending on the situation that they are in. Here's hoping the new writers think the same way. Members Michael
Carrie was probably the most damaged character during that 2005-06 period, actually. She needed to have a BIOLOGICAL child, but she couldn't face the thought of having a handicapped baby, so she didn't even tell Austin about her reasoning and just married the next available penis... and then proceeded to sneak around on him. I think the nadir of that mess was when she had sex with Lucas and then went up to the roof, without even showering, and made out with Austin. And we were supposed to be rooting for her! Her recent little returns have done a lot to smooth that stuff over, especially with how they addressed the Lucas thing in 2010, so I'm ready to give her another chance. Members Antoyne
I totally forgot about that awful 2005-2006 return and the Lucas stuff. I hate being reminded of things I've obviously surpressed.
Members Money
Sami IS the most overexposed character on DAYS and AS' acting is subpar at best. I really hope her airtime is reduced since it's more than time she was shown in a supporting capacity. AS is a fan fave but she should never have become the leading lady of the show. Members Shawn
Lord, it's all coming back to me now. The character assassination was completely insulting. Carrie would never care if she were to have a handicapped kid. She would have loved it. The only decent material Christie had to prove her chops during this ridiculous debacle was when she confronted Lexie at the restaurant about what she had done....and don't even get me started on Lexie. How that woman is still a doctor is beyond me. Sorry. If it helps, I feel your pain. Glad I'm not the only one
Members DaytimeFan
+1, only time I enjoyed Caroline too, she should be batshit and changing DNA tests all the time, when she blurted it out in church, again, amazing. The promo is a mix as far as I'm concerned. Deidre Hall looks like a million bucks, Drake Hogestyn (who, as a person, I like) is going to drag her down with the hammy writing for John. Carrie and Austin are very 1994 and not in the good way, if they're wise they'll throw Nicole into that mix. Victor proposing to Maggie is WIN. That brief glimpse of Kate toasting EJ's run for mayor is WIN. Lexie and Abe getting any semblance of a story would be nice. Matthew Ashford makes me want to break my television, so that's no plus for me. About the set...it sure looks indoor...is it outdoor? Were all those scenes shot at night? It reminds me of a bigger version of GL's Main Street. I'm hoping it looks better as time goes on.
